What exactly is this ...?

I just created a pet.. pretty cool.. I like it..

It took me forever to find a name that wasn't taken though! lol

I think everryone here has an account... or they wouldnt be on the boards. o_o;

It's taking a very long time to load for me. I have only opened the "create a pet" page, since I allready have enough accounts. I'm on 56k.

EDIT: It finally loaded for me. It's nice, but takes too long to load. =/ It took over ten minuites.

It's a new way of creating a pet, instead of the old pick a pet page, then pick colour etc. It's...interesting and certainly feels more interactive than the old way did.

First page:

Shows black and white cartoons of the pets, next to a side bar showing your selected pet and allowing you to choose the colour (which your selected pet then becomes).

Second page:

Name
Usual where does your pet like living etc thing.

Different thing: You choose from a choice of 3 different stats layouts, shown as energy bars, instead of the old roll the dice way.

I didn't go further as I don't actually want a new pet. So definitely an interesting way of doing things and interesting to see that they're considering that aspect of the site, not just adding stuff to established areas. However it took ages to load. Really...ages!

For those who already have enough pets or
do not want to create another to see,
here are some screenies..

1. Select a pet
2. Select a color
3. Select pet specific data

I think it's awful. Now if I want to create another pet, I'll have to wait a minimum of ten minuites. First the Explore map is impossible for me to use, now the create a pet. -__-

Can you not have a choice of which version to use? For us on slow connections?

I dont like how you cant change the color after you decide. I chose the color, then named it, and then thought red would look better.... Erg

I really really like the layout of the sign-up and for the create-a-pet. The only thing, as other people are saying, is that the create-a-pet takes a very very long time to load. It didn't take 10 minutes for me, but longer than it should.

I like having all the pets on one page for 'create a pet', but the grey background just looks rather... old school colouring book/ paint program-ish, and is very cluttered and ugly in my opinion.

I don't like how its flash based. It makes it a hassle for people with slower connections to create a pet. Though I like how they don't show pets you can't create.

EDIT: Are Tonus no longer Limited Edition or did they just release some?

Oh wow, thats horrible on dial up. I waited 5 minutes and 15 seconds for that one page to load. The majority of flash game loads take under 2 minutes for me! I really hope they figure out a way to cut down the size. Something as simple as a create a pet page shouldnt be so lengthy. Its at least understandable for the Explore map and stuff.

It feels like theyre alienating a whole group of their users by switching so many things to huge flash creations. Dial up might not be as common as it was years ago, but we're still out there. High speed folks arent at any disadvantage or inconvenience by keeping more things text based, but dial-uppers do suffer

Hmmm, I'm not really crazy about the new set up, but I guess it's okay. (but I bet it would suck when my connection is being slow) However I quite like the blank outline images.

But I don't like that picking a color and name aren't on the same page. So that if you think of a name then change your mind about the color, you'd have to start all over again. :/

And just think of the impact this will have on people with slower connections on days when LE pets are released! D:

I don't like the new create a pet page, it looks like its from a little kids online coloring book.
