Igloo Garage Sale has always vaguely disturbed me, and not because it has Chias in it or because it got that horribly busy redesign, though those don't exactly help matters. No, what bothers me is that here we have a game featuring a woman who is clearly OUT OF HER EVER-LOVING MIND.

First of all, instead of hiring a moving company or just waiting for all of us kind Neopians to buy up all her junk, she decides that it would be much quicker to just drop all of her worldly possessions from the icy ledge they apparently live onto the ground below - including glass bottles which are very breakable. Not only breakable, but dangerously sharp when broken. If her husband doesn't step carefully, a nasty cut on his foot is very, very likely.

As if that wasn't bad enough, she's also dropping - God only knows how - PIANOS and BOMBS onto her poor hubby. I don't have the dimensions of the average Chia handy, but I'm pretty sure they can't even lift a piano by themselves - much less catch one that's falling. And depending on far it has to fall, that would be a significant velocity factor.

It's very apparent to me that Carassa (or is Mika the girl? I never can remember which is which) is either trying to "accidentally" kill her husband, or she's nutty as a fruitcake. I'm telling you, there's some issues going on in that igloo.

Anyway, enough of that....what kind of prizes are y'all expecting at the end of this month? Personally I'm kinda hoping for an AAA plushie ("90% of the stuffing is in the head!") or better yet, a set with him and Abigail. Or possibly a game controller toy - bonus cool points if it looks like the Atari 2600 Wrist Destroying-type. Some of you, after reading the rants here, might prefer a punching bag or pinata toy. :P I'm afraid to want a BD item, because if it turns out to be like the ones we've won so far, it'll be nice-looking, but not terribly useful - and quite frankly, there's enough of those already. Same for the furniture and garden items, mostly - UNLESS they gave away a pinball machine or pool table, or something like that. That would indeed be uberiffic. :D

lol Rakumel

I always thought that Mika and Carassa were both girls...

An AAA plushie would be a nice addition to my gallery; but I've decided not to speculate too much about the final prizes in order to prevent potential disappointment.

*raises hand*

Only 6 more days. ^_^

Six more days ... hopefully NOT followed by a six month wait for prizes.

    *cue Weird Al's "Honey I don't think you love me anymore"* but for some reason I always thought they were both male.. *shrug* not that it matters. :P thanks for bringing a smile to my day. Those chias are nuts- add the fact that they live in an igloo (with an attic- how's that possible?) and complain that it's too cold, when there are hundreds of perfectly viable housing options throughout neopia. (e.g., Tarla doesn't live in an igloo, she has a house.)

Isn't it obvious? She's getting rid of all his junk, and he's trying to save it! As for the piano's and bombs, well, adultery comes to mind  It's your classic husband cheats on wife, wife throws out all of his things and tries to kill him in the process ;)

I wonder what TNT's going to do with the clothes. Maybe dressing up your neopet kinda similar to the avatar system on Gaia Online?

Hm, cool coat or lame poster...

Sorry to say, that's probably not going to happen.

The avatars on Gaia Online are basically similar in body style; that is, human. Even if you factor in male and female, that's still only two different body types to design clothing for. And since those types are a lot alike, it wouldn't be too hard to make minor alterations to clothing items so they can be worn by either a male or female avatar. Other items, such as pants or hats, could be worn by either gender with no modification at all.

This is not the case with Neopets. There are currently over 40 different species of pets, ALL with different body types. Even those that are very similar, such as Flotsam and Jetsam, are posed differently. So just for one basic clothing item, such as a black shirt, an artist would have to draw over 40 different versions of it. And that would be just for, say, the happy pose. In one pet color. If you wanted the clothing item to show up in ALL your pet's poses, that multiplies the workload. Then there's the problem of drawing clothes for pets who have been painted with a color that changes their body composition, such as Maraquan, Faerie, or Darigan.

In short: It's just easier for your pets to walk around naked. Unless they've been painted Royal.

However, having said that...back when we were all speculating about last year's Advent Calendar, I came up with the idea of having clothing items be equipped to your pet, similar to Battledome items. The post itself is on this page somewhere. I submitted the idea to TNT months ago, but I don't know if anyone ever saw it. *shrug*

Also, if you were talking about putting a human avatar on the site, say on the User Lookups, that's probably a no-go as well. Human avatars aren't the Neopets style anyway, and I don't think they want humans pictured on the site at all(faeries excepted, as they're secretly a race of beetles).

You know what I realized at first? If there's one thing that the Daily Dare has taught me, it's the fact that I absolutely HATE almost all of these Neopets games. UGH. After this, I'm never touching any of these games again (except for Meerca Chase II...:D).

Mon Mar 26, 2007 3:18 am

It might be a nice idea if you could put a "closet" in your Neohome, so that you could show off all of your clothes. You could even organize them the way you wanted.

Mon Mar 26, 2007 3:22 am

I've always thought it'd be nice to use clothes like you do toys, i.e. dropdown menu ---> Let Fluffy138424 try on Yellow Dress ---> Submit
*picture of normal pet in happy pose* "Does this make my butt look big?"
Then the pet's happiness level rises. :)

Hehehe, Kenjiro, your post made me laugh uncontrollably. I am a "divorcee" and I can definitely see this as a possibility. :P

It's been bugging me for years... I'm so glad I'm not the only one :P
