Whenever I try to read something in, oh, let's say Japanese, the text appears to me as a bunch of question marks. Very annoying, and kinda weird when I notice the random English terms and names scattered amongst the sea of '?'.

I assume this is because I'm lacking the right fonts, but I've had no luck finding anything that works so far. What do you guys recommend? (I'm currently running whatever the latest version of Firefox is on Windows XP Pro.)

I thought that had to do with the Regional and Language Options under the control panel. I'm not 100% sure though. If you click on it, go the languages tab, then the supplemental language support box, you'll see install support for east asian languages. That might be what your looking for. Is the language you want Japanese or something else?

Anything I don't have, but mainly Japanese. I'll give that a shot now.

Not sure if I'm just stating the obvious here or not, but have you tried fiddling around with the character encoding? View > Character encoding.

Do you maybe not have the language packs installed?
Go to Microsoft Update and see.

Huh...I could've sworn that I edited that post to say that what you suggested worked. Oh well, I can read stuff in other languages now!...though I won't know what I'm reading sometimes. :P
