I don't know how doing your laundry would work, but be sure you have detergent and a basket to carry your clothes in.

You know what's great for laundry: The bags you can get at ikea to carry your stuff around in - you can buy blue ones at the end (in australia they're $1 AUD) and they're just the right size for laundry. thats what i use for my laundry.

Frozen food, to stash in a mini-fridge.
A mini-fridge, if one isn't provided.
Fans. Lots of fans.

The board games, washroom and laundry bags sound like good ideas guys!

I'm definately going to be heading to Ikea anyways, so it works in my favour.

I don't know if anyone else has said this, but be sure to have a lot of hand gel. Most college people ( In the US and Abroad) don't wash their hands and some people just have bad grooming habits, which is why diseases seem to spread more readily on college campuses than in some other places. I'm not trying to imply that forein people are less sanitary, I really don't know. I'm just saying that some people in general are not very sanitary. We are all guilty of that, though! How many of us really wash our hands for like a full minute when we get done? And when is the water EVER hot? And when is there ever enough soap?

Well basically when you have a lot of people living together, it can happen. When those people are young adults who could care less about sanitation, it can only get worse.

I know, eh? That's what I was worried about.

I'm probably going to bring bottles of hand sanitizer and a big soap bottle, because I do not want to have disgusting germs all over me.

-shudders-

But thanks for the tip, I was only thinking about bringing huge soap bottles, but hand sanitizer's as well will make me even cleaner!

Well, there is a meal plan there, I could just buy whatever food I want on the meal card. But despite that, I think I will pack some additional food items.

Well are you taking your computer? Because you might not have enough outlets for all those cords, plug alarm clock, plus stereo (if you bring it) plus power cords for any electronics you need to charge regularly (like a cell phone).

Here is a list of stuff I forgot and wanted:
- some books to read
- a calendar
- mouthwash
- an extra pair of shoes

Oooh, soap...be sure that you bring something to cart around all of your shower/bathroom supplies. My college (only 3 years ago) didn't have soap in the bathroom, or paper towels, so I had to bring my soap and hand towel into the bathroom all the time...so obnoxious.

Wow, that list is helpful!

But I'm bringing a laptop, stereo, speakers and my cell phone with its charger. So I suppose bringing one of those outlets with like 6 plugs in them is in order!

And an extra pair of shoes, that's something I'd never think of. Knowing me, I'd step in a puddle and have them damp for the rest of the term!

Mayanspypilot: I'm bring a bag like you mentioned, hand sanitizer and a big soap bottle. Hopefully it covers it! And of course towels as well!

If you bring food that requires cooking, I'd advise bringing plastic utensils and paper/styrofoam bowls/plates/cups, because even if you have a dishwasher, you probably won't want to do dishes. And washing regular utensils and other things like that is a pain if you just wash it in the sink.

Also, if you have to pay for the laundry, get a couple of rolls of quarters (if the laundry machines take quarters only). It's usually a pain to exchange cash for quarters, and if there's a machine it might be broken most of the time.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I should find out, let me get back to you on that one!

My college didn't provide a change machine, and the local college store would not give out quarters. Definately a roll of quarters and some loonies (our dryers took loonies), would be a good idea if you plan on not being smelly while you're there.

Well, it looks like you and Dragonfire were correct in the laundry-coin issue.

I will have to purchase tokens from the University, so I suppose bringing specific money for that purpose will be good.

Oh, something is bothering me, I can't figure out what's going on with meals on the weekend. Apparently the cafeteria is closed and they provided this FAQ question as to where we're supposed to eat,

Where do we eat ?

Meals are provided at the cafeteria.

Please note that the cafeteria is closed on weekends. You will have to manage for your meals on weekends; however, an allocation will be given during the duration the program.

What does that mean? Are they providing us another place as to where we could use our meal cards? Or am I dying on the weekends?

Well aren't we lucky? Heh.

Well, I'm double posting as I'm leaving for the trip tomorrow!

I'm so nervous, and excited all at once. I don't know what to expect, but I'm hoping I don't die. Ah!
