OK, I don't know if you guys will like it at all, but I've done a traditional Scottish lullaby called Dream Angus.

It's not late yet, it's still monday :P

White Coral Bells
haha, it's the district audition piece from when I was in seventh grade. Don't ask me how I still remember it :P
It's kinda really short, so I sang it twice... but it's kinda still really short. If that's a problem, I've got another one I could use instead... but it kinda sucks even worse xD

Judges Note: I was actually expecting some pretty bad singers to be honest, and I couldn't really find one person to fulfill my expectation. And I must say, I was a little disappointed. But in all seriousness, good job everyone, I was very pleased with these performances. However, one nitpick of mine is to choose songs which power your voice. Some of you chose easy songs which were obviously songs you could pull off, but I didn't really sense any challenges in these renditions. Take a risk! It might just pay off.

bluez: "These Foolish Things" - Frank Sinatra
Let me tell you this, you don't have an amazing voice. Nor a horrible one. Your voice is slightly above average and I think you'd sound better with some singing lessons (In order for your notes to be held properly). The thing with a Frank Sinatra song, it's supposed to be cool, calm and collected and your voice does in a way, fit it. But, it seemed to me at parts you couldn't hold the note or couldn't sing as high as you'd like and instead sounded like you were blowing air out instead of a note. But I do think you did fit the Frank Sinatra vibe, good job.

Score: 7/10

Kym: "Gaya Birthday"
Is this a solo entry or are you coupling with other people? I can't tell if other people are singing with you or if that's just some fancy computer thing you did. One hint, don't do it; especially if it's other people singing with you. This is a solo competition, not "Group PPT Idol". And if it's a fancy computer trick, try not to rely on that because it may come across as you trying to compensate for a weak voice. But let's get to the actual singing, shall we? I thought it was okay, you obviously have a nice voice but it didn't show at all in this song. If it wasn't for your other tracks you've posted in Abbey Road, I'd think you couldn't sing as well as I know you can. You have the talent, sing a better song. Choosing weak songs will hurt you.

Score: 7/10

Fiddelysquat: "Shambala" - Three Dog Night
I really enjoyed listening to your voice; it was good and the song you chose was pretty fun in and of itself. The only problem was at times I felt you lagged behind the song, as in, the melody moved quicker than your actual voice. Other than that, I think the "ooo" part could've been sung louder with more force. Good performance!

Score: 8/10

DragonDoodies: "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - Queen
Well, it was interesting to say at least; I was certainly entertained. A note though, you sounded better when you didn't sing in a high voice. I know the song calls for it, but try choosing a song which doesn't require you to sing out of your comfort zone. Your voice, I don't even know if I can even rate it. I mean, was the high voice really how you sing each song or was it just to adapt to this particular song? I'll give you brownie points for staying true to the original version, but I'm afraid I can't give you a high enough score because I'm not even sure if that was your voice or if it was just an imitation.

Score: 6/10

werepup: "Dream Angus"
Best vocal performance. Period. I think you really do have an amazing talent, and after hearing this performance and last week's, I do think you have a huge chance to win this entire competition.

Score: 9/10

WIS: "Smile"
Gina Glocksen sang this and guess what? She got kicked out. But in all seriousness, your voice has a nice deep touch to it but it sounds as if you had something in your throat. It still sounded good, but perhaps clearing your voice would be good? I think the song choice was a bit weird, perhaps choosing a song better suited to low, deep voices like Frank Sinatra? Good job though.

Score: 7/10

pipsqueeek: "White Coral Bells"
I really do adore your voice but the song seemed so childish to me. I honestly expected you to say at the ending "That was me singing 'White Coral Bells' with little bunnies and birdies at my side, listening intently". Your voice is nice, show it off. Pick a song with long notes, or a song which powers your voice. Perhaps singing a song like Nightwish's "She Is My Sin", Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" or even songs by El Divo will really show off your voice. Overall, good performance.

Score: 9/10

mayanspypilot: "Shortnin' Bread"
Well, as I said before, I really think singing childish songs will not help you win this competition. Avoid children songs at all cost, they don't show off your voice -- at all. Your voice is a good, average voice but I don't even know if that's even a good assessment. This song didn't even let me know how you really sound like. Choose a better song, ideally longer and I'm sure you'll do better.

Score: 7/10

Thanks for the ratings. :) I was slightly sick that day, so I had a little phlegm lodged there. >_>;

Both Kym and My file are standard MP3 encodes, hosted on the PPT server... right click on the link and download them, there shouldn't be any problem whatsoever.

My file works fine in my browser. Or just right click and save as onto computer. *points up*

By the way, I think we have a singer on our hands... John (DragonDoodies) is really.... really... really good!!! I dance listening to him singing!!

Wed May 02, 2007 6:04 pm

I've tried to right click and download them but it says because of my security settings, I'm unable to.

Does anyone know of a way I can override this security setting or can someone upload them to SendSpace or something?

Thanks ^_^ Hmmm... what shall I sing now...

Oh, it is :P. Heh, I wasn't having much luck getting anything to sound good, and figured a song from choir(and thus one I was actually taught instead of just singing along) might work better... and that was the only one I could remember right then where the sopranos had the melody the whole way through :P

Perhaps singing a song like Nightwish's "She Is My Sin", Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" or even songs by El Divo will really show off your voice.

Except I don't know any of those songs :P

:( My life and exams > me.

*cries* I'm going to have to quit the competition. I have way too much to do, it waaay too little time. I'm sorry, but I really have too much to worry about. It was fun while it lasted.
