It isn't distracting me. It only makes our pets look even more like crap compared to those ones.

I didn't say they were distracting us. I said they were trying.

I KNEW the word Archaeo linguistics looks wrong, I blame my inner Archaeologist.
anyway... rosetta stone! with only two languages rather than the three or four on the actual stone. whhoooo

I love the Ogrin, he's awesomly surly.
But yeah, the tonu, xwee relation thing gets me... it got me in the last plot too.. Sophies daddy was a skeith! it's like er.. wth? I love though that they had the "Neoian genetics" book as a plot prize addressing the oddness. Lol!

Anyway, hopefully this plot will continue. I like plots, it gives me something to do.
As for the pound, it'll come back. It's probably a combination of implementing a redesign and all the people freaking out and pounding their pets. That poor server. IN happier news though, they fixed the games page. Now I can see all the games! yay!

Gah... Plot or no Plot, nothing is going to make me log onto Neopets tonight. ¬.¬ Last night my Browser practically crashed (and my computer almost followed it) and Neopets loaded all weird. -.- I'm glad I managed to log out before anything bad happened, it looked like those images your supposed to look at through 3D Glasses or something... except without the Glasses. o.o;; I couldn't go on any other Websites after that and had to switch my Computer off almost straight after as nothing else would work either. -prods- Yes... I know I'm ranting... but I can't help it. Website-Designers just don't care about very slow Dial-Up Users anymore... or Windows 98 users. It's hard to tell the difference nower-days. -_-

Archaeologist-isc Plot? Sigh. That's tempting though... watching all of those History Documentaries/Time Team Episodes when I was a tad younger got to me. Although I thought they already had an Indian Jones-ish character... Jake. O.o Meh. Rosetta Stone; helped the translation of two forms of the Egyptian Language as it had the Greek Language on too (and back then, Greek was widely known...). I think. I'm cynical so I'm agreeing that this is a ploy to get users back on the Site but still... I'll log on tomorrow. -nods- ...And don't ask about the Time Team Episodes.

-coughs- Yay Plots!! Even if they are a cunning way to get Users to log back in! ^^

I find it hard to believe only about 40000 people are on. I mean, that is a lot of people, but still, I thought more people than that would be on at any given time. I guess there isn't as many people playing at one time as I thought.

It's gone up to 56000 online now, but that's not surprising - even the widely-covered-in-the-media Second Life only has about 37.5k peak concurrency. (I'm not sure SL has ever broken 40k yet.) This might seem poor compared to, say, the half-million concurrency numbers that games like WoW got. But Neopets (and maybe games like WoW too) is currently settling into its natural niche of players.

[edit, about 10 minutes later] 55k -> 56k...and still rising...

Well, maybe I'm just naive, but I think that TNT might have forseen our "The pets looks too babyish" complaint and tried to make up for it with a plot geared more at the "adult" players. I mean, look at the language in the comics! And if we are starting with logic puzzles instead of just "randomly click around until you find some vines and meepits and the like" then perhaps this one will be more of a challenge.

I don't know about you, but a good hard plot (Lost Desert Style) would probably win me back over, even with my cruddy uber-expensive ruined pets. :P
