Well, that was easy... and short...
I waited an entire week for this mini-step, huh? Fair enough

It was easy to find the system on the 3rd level - I should have thought about it sooner.

All done - shame it wasn't a longer step.

 typo!

Yea!!! All finished. I was going to post how I completed my puzzles, but the suggestions were already posted. If anyone is stuck, just read everyone's suggestions. They're all pretty much the same. If you can't figure it out and get a new puzzle, don't worry--one of them will be a little easier. It took me 3 tries for the third puzzle. The third one only had 3 symbols total, so it was pretty easy to solve.

Ack, bugged?!

I got all three puzzles done. On the last one, I had 3 tries left when I figured it out. Once I hit the button on that last one, the page refreshed like it had done on the other times, as if it was giving me a fourth puzzle to work out. I thought, weird, because you guys said there were only three.

I started working on my "fourth" puzzle. When I hit enter, the screen just went back to the way it had been - blank at center for all the rings. I looked closer and it said that I had zero tries left.

Anyone else have this problem!?!

I think someone earlier said the same thing, and I think they went back to the comic or the journal and then back to the puzzle. It then said it was solved. I hope that works!

I didn't get that problem, but when I finished my 3rd puzzle all lights turned to red, but the door opened. :)

The boards have been complaining about a '4th puzzle' but it is a glitch, apparently refreshing or returning to the journal sorts it out.

edit: did anyone actually get an object after the puzzle? Even though it said I picked something up, there was nothing in my inventory.

I got nothing. This seems to be different than the Tale of Woe plot where we actually had something put in our plot inventory.

And to add to what Trilian said, if you get stuck read through the suggestions people posted in this thread and the last part of split 7. Lots of really good suggestions.

I do a similar method as Couch, but instead of switching them all to one, i keep three as blank, and move the top three (for the last puzzle that was). If all three get greens or yellows, i'm sure to try a fourth, but generally there won't be, and that way you have a pretty good idea of if you have to move them. So i keep one blank until i know what all the symbols are. Took me about 10 minutes.

Thank you so much, I was stuck on the third puzzle and that method helped loads.

Me too. Thanks a lot.

For the last puzzle, in the first submission, switching the top three and leaving the bottom three blank is a MUCH better plan than switching all of them.

I had a friend who had the 3rd puzzle glitch. Just refresh the page or go and come back. From what I've heard i believe you entered the correct answer and the page is just not refreshing properly. So a refresh or leaving and coming back should give you the image of the then opened door (aka puzzle solved image).

(hope that helps)

I have a feeling I was pretty lucky on the 3rd puzzle; I got it in 6 guesses. :P

Okay, for those of you who are getting a 0 in the middle of the puzzle that keeps refreshing when you click on it - don't worry!

I means that you've completed the puzzle but the system has a glitch. So go back to the journal and click on "to the puzzle" again. You will receive the finishing screen then.

When I was doing my third puzzle I resorted to the pencil and paper method to keep track of my solutions and I came up with an interesting conundrum when I tried to actually solve my puzzle. On my third attempt I had the 4 in the 5th column and it said on the side that it was yellow. When I finally got to the end of my puzzle, it turned out that the 4 actually went in the 5th column. This made it much more difficult then it should have been to solve. So just beware that sometimes the lights glitch a little. This might have just been in my case, but I felt that others should know too.

Where can we see the item that we got? Isn't there some kind of "Quest inventory", or was that only for the Haunted Woods plot?

Fri May 11, 2007 7:32 am

wow. these steps all seem to really short. it rather frustrates me. on the plus side though i'm all done. this one wasn't too bad once i realized that when the puzzle reset itself it changed the combination. ooops. good luck to every one else. it's really not too bad.

Fri May 11, 2007 8:15 am

\o/ This was a fun step! I really had fun trying to find the right combination before I ran out of turns to try. Finished all 3 puzzles just now.
I do hope the next steps will be a little longer. Now I'm just getting warmed up only to find the step already over.
