Well, about the number of teams, TNT couldeasily make a "qualify" round
Four teams fighting for the last spot in the great tournament.

Faeriland (dead last in former Cup), plus:

- Shenkuu (very likely)
- Neovia (Haunted Woods B team?)
- Lutari Island (a way to make the cell phone region more "integrated" to the rest of neopia)
- Neopia Central (unlikely)
- Mutant petpetpet Island (good design possibilities)

Problem is to choose 3 from those 5

ah, andby the way... ROOligans... soon, back witha ROOvenge :P

I'll definitely be supporting Roo Island again, if the Cup becomes a yearly event. Though I wonder how last year's results would affect a new tournament, I suppose HW would get lots of dead weight.

Does anybody know how the scores were calculated? I mean, I read a lot of people talking about 'jumping on the wagon' and 'being dead weight', but is there really some sort of player/score ratio? I just thought it'd be the total score of the players in the team..

I think the total score was then divided by the number of players. Otherwise, teams with lots of members would have automatically won. So if lots of players joined MI and then didn't send any scores, their team's points decreased.

The way I see it, the number of players shouldn't matter. They'd still have to win more total games than the opponent, so a team with few but very active players could still win.

What I rather want to know is, is there anybody that knows for sure how it's calculated?

I think it boils down to number of points per player(games won divided by number of players). That way, a team with 200 members can fight a team with 2,000 members on a fairly even footing, and everyone won't just flock to the most popular teams because they have the highest chance of winning.

If I decide to participate, I will be supporting Meridell again. Even if I don't decide to play, I'll still be rooting team Meridell on.

I wish the Cup wasn't happening this year. It shouldn't be made into a yearly event. I'd prefer it to correspond with the World Cup or they could just do it every 2 years or something.

Hmm...I like the idea that newly registered members can still join a mini-plot though. That at least gives them a taste of plots, etc. or at the very least, a easy, but nifty trophy if they spend time on it.

O.K. I'm still a bit lost on the whole Altador cup thing. How/When do I join a team, what/where is the game? I wasnt around last year, but I do like to take part in all the special plots

This years Altador Cup hasn't started, but here is the link from last year:

http://www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/index.phtml

you can't play the game yet, but you can read about it.

It started last year at the same time as the World Cup Soccer. It is tournament where you pick a team and play for so many days. The winning team goes through to the next round. If you chose a losing team you can then pick another team to play for.

There were different trophies depending on whether you had the same team for all games or had different teams and if you came 1st or 2nd.

It is like soccer or lacrosse where you maneuver your players so you can score goals.

Aha, so when it comes time to choose a team will it be in the new features or something?

Kreludor has my support! I don't care if we got utterly owned by the Haunted Woods right off the bat last year!

It makes more sense if they held it whenever the World Cup went on in real life (because that's what the event was supposed to parody), but I'm not complaining if it's every year.

I actually like the idea of Neopets having a yearly event like the cup. The plot still being open. Eh i dont like that as much because it wasnt a very 'mini' mini plot. I enjoy the idea of having a mini plot up for newer members to get there feet wet plot wise. But Altador wasnt the plot to do it with in my opinion.
