This reminds me of that one mobile phone service provider commercial on television where the mother is all mad because her daughter is texting a lot and it's costing too much. "Who are you texting 100 times a day?!" "idk, my bff Jill?" "Well tell your bff Jill your phone is getting taken away." "TISNF! (this is so not fair)" "Me having to pay this bill, that's what's S.. N... F!"

Man I love that commercial.

...

Uh, back on topic, I'm thinking Tesco's popularity might go down if anything for trying too hard. Especially if 60 year old employees start saying things like "word up brotha."

The only thing that bothers me about that commercial is the crack across the face my mother would've given me if I talked to her like that.

Man, I can almost feel it when I see that commercial.

lol... this reminds me of the "ghetto" training video they used for franchise chains to relate to the audience better. Caution: Watching this video may may you less intelligent than you were before you started watching it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMVyN8jt1Zs

Eh I don't mind slang, I find it amusing. It'll be out of fashion in five years time and whole new words will be in use. At least I can understand it now, in five years time I'll be a wrinkly old codger (24) and won't understand a word these pesky kids are saying.

Fun fact: One of my clients asked me to write one of these because I'm apparently the only person under 40 around.

Given that I have no idea what you kids today with your slang and your rock music are talking about, I'm thinking of just printing out my previous masterwork on the subject, and maybe giving them a copy of this article too.

Bad as in good, bad as in bad, or bad as in stale ("that food's gone bad, don't eat it")?

Heck... whenever you do or say something mean... just look at the person and smile. They'll think you're being cheeky. 0:)

Another fun fact: "phat" is actually prison slang!

I try to incorporate prison slang into daily life.

Great job on the article Pudding! :P

I don't speak slang, although at one point I only talked in chatspeak.

Most words that kids use as slang now days come from prison slang. Shank is another I can think of.

I've hardly heard of any of those "slang words". Maybe it's just UK slang, because the only ones I really recognize are ballin, phat, and talk to the hand. The last 2 being from the 90s of course.
