I always get called 'ginger' etc & picked on, even though my hair has only a hint of reddish color in it, and thats just when it lightens in the summer.
I always found it quite strange, at my old school, where if anyone said anything that could be considered remotely racist, then they were severly punished, but they could discriminate someone for their hair colors, and be almost encouraged.
The thing is, it sounds such a dumb thing that nobody recognises it exists.
I mean, who would take such a word as 'hairist' seriously?
Lol.

That is quite sad, but I can't help but remember the Catherine Tate sketch with 'Gingers for Justice'.

Aw, I'm sad for remembering that.

The world is what you make it. What I find sad is that people concentrate on all the bad in the world, and look too much at the negative. There's so much good, so many people trying to do good in the world. Why can't we concentrate on that some times?

Because the bad far outweighs the good in the Universe.
Ofcourse Good and Bad are made by our Perception.
And we perceive nothing but evil in an Uncaring Universe.

I won't post the link because there might be inappropriate content (haven't read it all) but after the Daily Mirror reported this (along with every other paper) there was discussion of the story on the forums.

According to people who live in the area the family are a right bunch of prannocks and it's nothing to do with hair colour, they're just horrible to live around.
Wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah but to be fair this is the Daily Mail.
Can't go a week without some Big Brother society rant.
But then again I did get that impression from the article (... Yes, I read the Daily Mail so I can get angry at something, it's an Anger relief thing)

Edit; Oh, and I've not heard anyone say Prannock in seven years, Tah!

You're welcome!

It was reported in all the papers though, not just the red tops. It's just skewed- I have no trouble believing they're just little gits who happen to be ginger.

ETA: Sunday Express had a cracking headline today- SUNGLASSES RAISE RISK OF CANCER.

Awesome.

Right bunch of prannocks... Let me know when you start speaking English. I too believe people just don't like them because they're not nice people and they're trying to shift the blame away from themselves.

This reminds me of an episode of South Park where Cartman gives a speech in class about how ginger people have no soul, so the other kids dye his hair red and he becomes a militant ginger supremacist.

The thing is, that IS English. YOU'RE the one not speaking Engish! You're speaking 'American'. IT'S A LIFT, NOT AN ELEVATOR!!!

And I don't have a problem believing that those people were right prats to live near.

Look on the bright side; at least they didn't try and blame them for killing Diana, although they'll probably get round to it eventually.

It's not in the dictionary, so it's not English. Score one for the Americans!

Let's get back on topic, please.

That's insane. I really don't understand why anyone would abuse someone because of something that's not their fault, like race and genetics. And even if they are complete 'prannocks' (it's British slang that means fool, moron, idiot, etc.), I don't think it's right that they're being assaulted to the point that their children are suicidal.

Supposedly.

Am I seriously the only redhead around here who was never bullied?

Mon Jun 04, 2007 12:03 pm

You probably just didn't realise.
;)

I dye my hair ginger and don't get bullied. I get people saying how nice it is though..
