I'm wondering whether to paint my new hissi darigan or baby:
Image Image
I would love petpet (and if possible petpetpet) suggestions for both, I'll probably chose the colour that has a better match (according to colour, species and pose/direction, brownie points for more than one of these!). Thanks in advance :)
EDIT: I forgot to mention: please don't suggest any darigan petpets for the darigan hissi as i've already had a look at them. Although I like the darigan quetzal, babaa and nuk i'd like some other options to compare. thanks again.

A friendly reminder: This thread is for asking for pet and petpet matches or assisting in creating matches. Members may choose to help or not to help. Many members give up their free time to search for matching pets and petpets, and this sometimes takes a while. Please be patient when waiting for matches and remember to always be polite, whether you are requesting or helping. :)

Um, well this is what the darigan hissi looks like now. I know the pets that were already painted were able to keep the old art, but I don't think that's what you will get if you paint him now.

I think black petpets look pretty good, and I think black plus reptillianish petpets look extra nice. I know you're saving (maybe just planning?) for a maraquan draik, so the cyodrake may be way out of your price range (around 3 mil) but they are probably my favorite evil looking petpet. A plain Cyodrake would look very nice too. And the dofrey isn't reptileish, but I think it works anyway.

I love magtiles with Hissis. It's a shame they only come in two colors..I think either color magtile would look decent with the Darigan Hissi, and if you can get past the fact the the Magtile is about the size of the baby, I think that looks pretty good too.

I think these three also go nicely with both. The green petpets bring out the green in the Darigan's tounge and the Baby;s eyes.

Snowickle is again, pretty dang expensive, but I couldn't not list it. I didn't price check these, but I'd wager that the mortog is next on the expensive list. I listed the Niptor for both because I think it could match either depending on what personality you come up with.

Thanks for the very quick response and all those awesome suggestions. I'm really glad you posted an updated version of the darigan hissi- it might make my decision re: which colour to pick easier especially if the old versions of pets are no longer available to pets that will be painted in the future (could someone please confirm this?)

I agree the snowickle looks great with the baby hissi (and the unpainted cyodrake looks good with darigan hissi) but atm they are out of my pricerange , so I'll have to settle for this combo:

Not a perfect match (in terms of the size mismatch and pose) but their colours are quite close and I think the idea of a baby neopet having a plushie petpet is really cute :)

Yep, that's been confirmed, you can't get the old art with pets that are painted now. :( It's a damn shame.

But I also wanted to point something out. Everyone's always talking about how babies are smaller than petpets. But keep in mind that the pet images on lookups (where they are next to their petpets) are actually bigger. So a baby hissi would be this size:

Image

Still small, but not quite so tiny. ;)

That is true, I think the big shock is the space between the pets and their petpets is so small that you notice the size difference more. And I think the hissi may just be a bigger baby pet. My friend has a baby aisha that looks like it could practically ride its snowbunny. So for baby pets, it might vary species to species, I don't know. :/

I agree Meer, it's such a shame that pets painted in the future don't have the option of the previous-style artwork :( At least that made my decision to pick baby easier, and as you pointed out, at least the Baby Hissi is more reasonably sized on his petlookup so that it's not as much if a mismatch ;)
Image Image Image

EDIT: Now I'm really regretting the decision to paint my poogle faerie instead of my pteri, as the poogle didn't have the option of retaining the old-artwork while the pteri did :(
EDIT 2: Just curious, what is the name of this petpet:
Image
The link suggests it's a (green) ryuki, but it doesn't seem to be listed in petpetcentral nor are there any on the neopets tp or sw.

Could some kind PPTer help me find a matching petpet for my soon-to-be Tyrannian lupe? He's red right now and has a Mallard, but I think it's time for a change.

Welcome to ppt Nekopan :) My tyrannian lupe has a grey gruslen- it's a pretty good colour/species match (if that's what you're after):

EDIT: Just tried to look for some more options, and noticed that although tyrannian petpets would make a good theme match, the majority of them have a different colour scheme (ie browns/yellow rather than the lupes' greys). However you might like these petpets:

Unpainted Zommutt, Unpainted Manjeer, Grey Anubis, Tyrannian Puppyblew, Mutant Puppyblew

Thank you, hpfanfiction! I've been looking for myself too.

I kind of like the black gruslen, but I think I'll keep looking.
