Neopets down?

Looks like it's a games update. One of my daily sponsor games has been taken down and several of the other games I play daily have had their NP ratios adjusted one way or the other. I don't think it was like that yesterday.

I noticed the updated game score/neopoint ratio yesterday, well before today's glitches. It was nice to discover that instead of having to score 5000+ points playing Sutek's Tomb to earn 1000 nps, it now only takes a score of ~1000 points. Nice!

TNT have stated that the game NP ratios will change every so often as it will be fairer. This is from the Games FAQ

If you notice that a certain score in a game earned you say 800 NPs one day and only 700 NPs the next, do not worry, this is not a glitch.

In an attempt to balance the amount of Neopoints earned among all the different games Neopets has to offer, the NP to score ratio for any particular game may change from time to time so be sure to keep an eye on the ratio for your favorite games!

Also I don't think removing a couple of sponsor games is going to effect the whole site. Something bigger was going on or at least something other than normal day to day activities made the site go down.

Everything was fine for me around an hour or so ago. Now I come back to check on things and I can barely get the site to load. I hope it's working better in the morning.

ugh the games are super laggy. Its not worth it...and I dont want to be accused to taking advantage of a glitch (when its clearly not an advantage...)

The site loads fine for me, I only get the 404 page sometimes, but the loading time is good as usual. Or actually a bit faster, since I got the birthday sidebar and there's no ads to be loaded (took me a while to figure out why the bottom banner was so far up the page ). Besides the 404 pages, it does show a page with my usual sidebar very few times, which looks very odd then :/

I am still rather leery about doing anything of any importance on the site right now. Because of the error pages. Too easy to lose something to a glitch. Last night someone on the Battledome Chat posted that he lost his wand of reality that had been in an auction.

I agree though, not to do anything. I'm having pages like Tombola and Shenkuu Lunar Temple come up as 404s, as well as the "bank process" page when I tried to collect interest.

There are a lot of missing page errors coming up. I have no idea what happened, but it seems pretty likely that they've had a series of hardware failures.

I was thinking the same thing, Shapu. Perhaps a server gasping its final breathes of life.

I read the backposts of the battle chat and last night, someone also reported losing a Freezing Potion in the auctions. And a couple of others said this morning that they had lost their battle sets. Others are not getting their scores for yesterday's AC games. And one poor guy got some weird error page saying they suspected him of having an autobuyer. And he wasn't restocking when it occurred and was quite freaked out by it. *shakes head* Neopets is a scary place to be right now. I'm not doing anything risky until I see these 404 pages go away. And even then I might wait awhile--just to make sure.

It would be nice to get a status report of some sorts, but I won't be holding my breath.

EDIT: Also, the 24 hour Wheels have been set back, so they are on the 24 hour and not daily scale. Has the site been reverted back to an older build? It's weird...that combined with the fact that the Altador daily didn't work for me, something is up.

I can only think of two times that Neopets has ever admitted an error or glitch publicly.

Holding your breath would indeed be quite foolish.

I agree Morningstar. I came back from a 3 & 1/2 year or so break and I am so disapointed at what neopets has become. Its really to the point where its not fun anymore. People are getting frozen for forces beyond their control, which isnt fair, and the neopets staff isnt doing their job to help them. The site is riddled with slow loading ads which mess up games and slow down my computer.

it used to be a great site...and I wish it still was.
