Just wondering about the elusive piece 9...

Is this an unbuyable in the shops? It's getting quite frustrating looking for this piece!

I'm pretty sure it's UB. I think it's floating around 120k? Could be a bit lower though.

I finally bought mine from the Trading Post. 240k was the cheapest price I could find. That map is getting extremely expensive. Knew I shoulda bought it long ago instead of hoarding.

Ouch. It's up for 295k on the trading post yesterday. What I did was purchase a lot of maps which gave me piece 9 for about 91k. Now to sell off the spare pieces and recover my bank balance lol. I am tempted to just hoard them for the moment! Wait 6 months and then sell.


Piece 8 also seems to be quite hard to find for some reason. Interesting. Wonder if TNT will Tarla-release these two pieces anytime soon!

I got that one as a RE and was able to sell it for 90k (or so)

I'm wondering if TNT is going to have Tarla release some more lab map peices as well. They're so rare and expensive now... something needs to be done to curb the skyrocketing cost.

I wonder if the price is rocketing because of the Tarla releases. Imagine it this way: Tarla's giveaway releases a bunch of specific piece types. People collect those pieces and think, "Hey, maybe I should finish the map off." Or they decide to hoard map pieces, anticipating instability in the market because of the market being suddenly flooded. Boom, inflation. I don't know if releasing more pieces all at once would help, or just destabilize the prices further.

i wish i knew. i'm trying to buy it lately too. not going so well. sad that i've been on for 4 years or so and haven't bothered to finish it sooner.

Piece 7 deflated quite a fair bit after it was handed out in a giveaway - correct me if I'm wrong. A few days ago, the cheapest price was 30k in the shops. When I purchased it in May '07 (I think just after the giveaway) the cheapest I found was 41k.

I now have a spare piece 7 (amongst a few other spares) and am wondering the same thing - do I park it in the SDB on the chance that a few months down the track, I can recoup my 'loss' and sell at greater than 41k, or join in flooding the market at present?

Somebody should do an analysis of the price trends of each piece and publish the results! Hehe. If only it wasn't so hard to find 'em on the wiz!


larph, as another 'long-timer' who decided not to complete the map/buy faerie paintbrushes 4-5 years ago, I'd say bite the bullet and just buy the set now Even a few months ago, one could buy the entire set off the TP for 550-600k. Now the going price is more in the high 700s and I've seen quite a few requests for 800k too!

I'm also looking for that piece AND the piece directly to the left of it (I THINK it's piece #4). Any clues as to where to get them? Yesterday a piece #9 was up on the auction, but, alas, my internet connection is just a little too slow.
