I noticed this today...I have a habit of eating candies by colour or shape. I generally eat the ones I dont like 1st. Or with skittles I tend to eat the lemon and lime ones together (kind of a flavor combo idea).

Heh, I eat the lemon and orange skittles together.

I always eat by colour, but skittles I'm the worst with. I really can't eat them out of order.

First, give all the purples away. Then eat the reds, then the greens. Then see how many oranges and yellows they are -- eat however many it takes to make them even. Then have one of each together until they're gone.

Something like this.

*Grabs packet*

*Empties as many skittles into mouth as unusually large mouth can fit*

*Chew thoughtfully and swallow*

*Several minutes later*

*sugar high*

I'm picky about color separation/order as well. With skittles, I make approximately 2 "sets" (IE, one of each color) of colors and set them aside. I then proceed to eat all of the yellows, greens, and oranges. Then I eat the reds and purples, and when I've only got the two sets left, I eat a whole set at a time, but I don't chew 'em...I just kinda let them dissolve slowly in my mouth.
For most candies, the red/purple/blue is always saved until last.
Except for M&M varieties, where color != flavor. With them, I make as many "full sets" as I can, then smaller sets, etc until I'm down to extras. I eat the extras in groups. IE, if I had a leftover yellow, I'd eat it alone. I might then eat a yellow, orange, and brown together, then a yellow, orange, brown and green, etc, until I get back to the full sets. I eat them one at a time, in rainbow-ish order.

Somehow doing all this allows me to savor the candy more.

I tend to eat candy by layers, especially chocolate ones. I eat the covering of a Snickers bar and then the peanuts off the top, or I'll eat as much of the chocolate off a peanut butter cup as I can. With M&Ms, I even crack the shells off with my teeth and then eat the chocolate, and if they're peanut M&Ms I crack the chocolate off the peanut as well. I guess I don't like my flavors and textures combined or something.

I don't eat candy. I eat sweets.

And I tend to do try and have one of each type by the end of it, then alternate between a nice flavour and a not so nice flavour to try and even out the flavours.

I used to do that with twix bars. the cookie was my favorite so I'd everything until I had just bare cookies left, pile them up, and eat them last.

By colour/shape/taste.
Of course, I pick the delicious, bright ones first.

I always eat the pink and red Starburst's first. Otherwise, it is all random.

I like to savor my candy, which mostly ends up letting them melt in my mouth rather than chewing them (and chewing usually gets pieces stuck in my teeth, which I forget to floss later, thus cavities). I usually save my favorite flavor/color for last and eat the ones I don't like first. And for Oreos (even though they're not really candy), I pull two of them apart, each the non-creme side, then stick the remaining two creme sides together. Quadruple-stuffed Oreos, anyone?

With skittles and such, I normally just pick them out of the bag one at a time without looking, so random. If I have a handful, though, I'll eat the ones there are multiples of first, then once I'm down to one of each eat them in order of how much I like them, ending with the one I like most. If I can remember which ones I like more, that is .


Haha, I do that too. Actually, I usually try to eat the cookie off both sides, and then when I've done that will all of them eat the huge block of cream

I used to eat gummi bears a lot. I'd buy a bag of 100 little ones, and separate them into groups. I'd eat the clear ones first, and save the red and orange for last. Then Id eat from one of the colors, until I had an equal amount of both, and then proceed to alternate them. Sometimes I bit off all of their arms, legs, and ears first, or I'd lick a red and orange, and make them stick together. I With skittles, I eat yellow, purple, and green as fast as possible, then savor red and orange.

When I was very young, I would create gummi bear communities using a cardboard box. The red and orange were like elite citizens, while the clear ones were lowly peasants. I'd play with the same gummi bears for so long, and make them have wars and disputes. I was short on real toys or something.

When it comes to M&Ms I arrange them by colour, and then proceed to depopulate the largest groups until I have an equal amount of each colour. Then I each one of each until there's none left.

Is it just me or does this scream 'psychopathic tendencies'?

Anyway. I usually just eat them randomly, but I make sure I have one of each flavour left. Then I cram it all into my mouth.

with skittles - i eat all the red ones first, followed by the green ones and then the yellow. The rest my brother or my dogs like to eat
with mNm's - i eat them, regardless of any pattern, but sometimes i head straight for the red ones, and then the blue.
with gummy bears - i eat the arms, legs, ears, and then the head. Soon followed by the body. But when it comes to colour i favour the red ones.
with oreo's - i separate them, eat the cream bits and then dip the choco biscuit into some milk mMmMmMmM!

i think i have a natural attraction to red coloured sweets.....
