What do you think the next neoquest should be like?

Assuming there is one, of course.

So, random thought I had earlier. ^^ What do ya'll think a neoquest three should be like?

I'd personally like to see a roguelike style to it...some kind of dungeon-delving game anyway. I'd also like to see the neopets version of random magic items...
Party wise, I suppose they could give you a choice of about 5-8 characters to pick from, so you can have different style parties and such. 4 being the party size maybe? It would be nice if you could actually build the characters, but I don't see that happening. D:

So, whats you're opinion? Got anything you want to see in a new neoquest?

That's funny...my boyfriend and I were having a discussion about roguelike games the other day. I haven't played a "real" one yet, but I think it would be cool if TNT went that direction with the next NQ. I wonder if their servers/coding could handle it...?

There isn't really anything awfully specific I'd demand to see in the next NQ, I just really want there to be a next one! :)

Although, having a FEMALE main/starting character would be a change of pace ;)

I haven't played any real roguelikes either, though I kinda want to. ^^ The games I've played so far are the Neverwinter Nights series of player modules(Endless Nights. If you have NWN, go download IV-VI, they are all good), and I've played Fate, the Wildtangent game.

I don't see why their servers couldn't handle it...they seem to handle all the users and such just fine. They'd probably have to constrain some things though, so there are some limits, less chance of braking the server/game. :P I could see them having fun with the project though. Lots of chances for creativity!

I would like more of a choice with our characters...The forced "here, take this character" *shove* thing gets on my nerves. :P

I wouldn't mind if they turned the 3D virtual world concept to NeoQuest III. Might be cool. But then there is the servers. :(

A long, long time ago, I had this huge thing going on where I tried to come up with the most awesomest idea for a Neoquest 3, but now all I remember is that I imagined the main character as a Krawk. Anyway, now I think I'd just like to see a longer game (yes, I know, I'm crazy) with more playable characters and more advanced game mechanics.

So long as the servers can support it, a 3D game would be fun. Although the idea of all the nubs I see being in the same place as me at the same time would be annoying. But with all the new kiddies playing (thanks to Neo advertising on Nickelodeon) the servers get really laggy at times (mainly 3-7 pm NST and weekends)

I'd definitely love a 3D version. Maybe they can even tie it into their Neopets world concept. We can be in the world exploring and NeoQuest players can be doing their quests right in the world itself.

I know I might go against the current but I would like Neoquest to use a similar system or program than the one used in Neoquest 2.
I don't want a 3d that would make some player lag.
Of course a good storyline would be fun, it has to be long and the rewards should be as awesome as in Neoquest 2 considering the long time and the skills needed to complete it.

From the editorial:

I'm just wondering if you could convert Neoquest and/or Neoquest II into a flash game (and if you're planning on making another Neoquest, that too) that automatically saves your progress, ... [blabla slow computer/internet blabla etc.]
Alas, sorry, we have no intention of ever making the Neoquest games into Flash games. :( We understand they can take a while to play for those with slow internet connections, but that's the nature of the game.


They don't say anything explicit about any third game, but if there is going to be one some day, it most likely won't be a flash game (of course, they can also change their minds again). But I think html pages would suit them better as well: more pageviews = more ads to show

Bah, you should be there when they open new content on Warcraft with me Siouxper! Its what I like to call a Nubfest and where I must show a great deal of restraint, hehe.

I do like the original thoughts though you all had. It reminds me of the old turn based PC games from Dungeons and Dragons like Pools of Radience and Eye of the Beholder series. Those were fun! It would be neat to play something like that again.

it needs to be flash, and maybe have like a save file or 2, i hate the whole side scroll, click to move thing it's so annoying! but that's just me :S


Oh! and it would be cool to develop your characters the way you want them, instead of them having specific classes

I don't want 3D, I'd prefer regular 2D. But what I would like would be NPCs being more colorful. In NQ2 there were a few Pirates, maybe a White, I think there was a Pink, a pale Purple, a Brown or two, an Orange, and some Ghosts all in the first chapter, but more is always welcomed.

And if it is going to be flash, there should be an autosave thing that happens after every battle. Or maybe every other battle. Or when you enter a room/town.
There should also be a combination of trading items for both gold and items. Or do a quest and get something as a reward from a NPC. And instant battle abilities using the keyboard instead of entirely clicking. Hmmm... maybe even a weather thingy with day and night. The weather happening every 1 to 3 hours of playing (think of there being a timer thing on the options page that stops after you close and starts back again where it left off) and day/night every twenty minutes. Or something.

For party members, I think it could be possible that you can get them and store them later.
And no, I didn't think of all that myself, they're based on some games I've played.
