This is going to kinda long so ya know... just warning you :P (i'm bored) And forgive me for spelling errors and such... we just got back home today. Oh yeah.. and the quality of the pics might be bad b/c I think photobucket reduced the file size....

Alrighty... I just got back from a 5day Las Vegas trip..... and well.. here are some pics with commentary for your enjoyment :P lol
Just a note.. I don't remember what some of the hotels are called so erm.. yeah lol.

So anywho... I was a bit hesitant to go to Las Vegas at first. Watching too many tv shows sorta put the idea into my head that it was just going to be filled with nothing but the sleeziest of the sleezeballs with hookers walking everywhere and etc etc etc. Just pretty much the worst possible image you could think of for some place. But I was surprised by how clean everything actually was (for the most part).

The plane trip to vegas was uneventful. We (me and the bf.. we'll call him E) flew at night so we could see Vegas in all of it's neon glory... and we were not disappointed.
We came upon it and it was like an ocean of light. It was really breathtaking. The whole landscape is flat (besides the mountains of course) so everything is in clear view. Wish I could've taken a pic of it.. but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have liked that on the plane :P lol
We stayed at a friends house that night b/c the hotel wasn't going to have any rooms available until the next day. but Mister friend was nice enough to drive us through the strip at 2am... just a quick tour through the strip.

So blah blah blah blah.... next day... we head to the hotel to check in! And which hotel are we staying at you might be wondering... why.. it's the New York New York of course!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv36.jpg
It's a very neat looking hotel. See the ESPN sign? And the grey building right behind that? We were in one of those rooms... on the 4th floor.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv39.jpg
Tada! that's the room! It was a pretty nice room.... but it had such a sucky view...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv38.jpg
Look Mah! A rooftop!
And if you didn't know.. that rollar coaster is part of the NY NY... We didn't ride it though b/c it costs $8
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv34.jpg
And there ya go... a better pic of the coaster and the bottom part of the NY NY... The pic has a bluish tint b/c it was taken through glass from across the street heh.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv30.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv27.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv10.jpg

AND what is across the street from the NY NY? Why.... it's the M&M store and the Coke Store! WOOO!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv37.jpg
Nothing much in there but a bunch of overpriced crap really.
It was neat seeing all of the different colors you could get...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv35.jpg
And E got himself a nice 1 pound bag of red black and white M&M's that was 8bucks... :o

On the 4th floor of the M&M building (yes... 4 floors of junk)... what do we see? But a nice big billboard of what E really really wants to go see
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv33.jpg
Yep... he was highly disappointed when I said he couldn't see it :P

(((I'm just gonna go out of order now... cause after that.. I really don't remember what we did next heh)))

These are some pics of the MGM hotel... we did take some pics of it at night but they're all blurry.. b/c of the stank camera
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv29.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv28.jpg
and one of the sleepy lions they have in their little habitat thing...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv31.jpg

And right across the street from the NY NY was the Excalibur... oooooo ahhhh.. We really should've stayed there since it had more shops with the sorta stuff we like.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv23.jpg

OO on Weds night we went and saw the Blue Man Group show at the Luxor hotel... I enjoyed it a lot (even though it was better when I saw it up in NY the real NY not the hotel heh) but I don't think E liked it all that much... guess he was just expecting too much from it? heh *shrugs*
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv26.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv25.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv24.jpg
Heh.. I left in the red-eye b/c it makes them look that much freakier :P lol But they did exactly what they did the first time I ever saw them. They came out into the lobby after the show and gave everyone that wanted them blue kisses (on the face for the skanks) and posed for pics. I think that's very cool of them to do that.
And yep... here's the Luxor hotel where their show is located...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv8.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv9.jpg

Oh... don't have any pics of it.. but we also went to see one of the cirque du soleil shows called Mystere... it was pretty neat but kinda creepy. They had this one guy dressed and acting like a big baby.....

And uhm... here's the Hoover Dam or however it's spelled lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv22.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv21.jpg
Now that was a miserable day. It was 120degrees IN THE SHADE!!!! :o

AND here's the hotel that has an Italy theme... can't remember what the name of the place is... and I'm pretty sure that some of these pics are from other hotels but I can't remember so I'm just gonna bunch them all here :P lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv20.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv19.jpg
(that one is just the view from that certain hotel)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv18.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv17.jpg
and there's one of those guys that gets paid to stand there like a statue.... UGH I would hate to have that job.

And yep.. here's a pic of Caesars Palace at night
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv16.jpg
Now that is one HUGE hotel. The thing just keeps going and going and going. It's HUMONGOUS

And here are some pics of the Paris...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv15.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv6.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv5.jpg

Some pics of the free show at the Treasure Island hotel... *coughsskankscoughs*
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv2.jpg
Oh hey look.. their closets caught on fire!!.. Seriously.. that's what the plot was.. the male pirates were blowing up the "sirens *coughhookerscough*" closets b/c they were so totally into their clothes and junk! *smirks*
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv1.jpg

Pic of what a Million Dollars looks like.... yep.. it's real.....
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv4.jpg

A few pics of the Fremont walkway thing.... wasn't all that impressive really... just really loud with a place that sold deep fried twinkies
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv12.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv11.jpg
That's the really big long ceiling of light. Just one of the cheesy light shows.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv13.jpg
And of course.. the wonderful world of stripping has a nice big sign for "World Class Topless Girls" uh huh... I'm sure they're very world class....

And here's a pic of a poor white tiger at that one hotel I can't remember the name of The Mirage?... Poor thing kept walking back and forth.. back and forth.. You could tell it was just miserable :(
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv14.jpg

There's that infamous sign...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv7.jpg

And finally... on our last night there.. we went to this restraunt called Claim Jumpers... if you've never heard of it well.. you aren't alone b/c I never had either until that trip. But all through it.. all E's friend could talk about was going to this restraunt.
And well... let's just say that the serving sizes were HUGE.
I couldn't even finish half of my main dish. But we still had to get some dessert... so I ended up getting this thing called the Brownie Finale... OOOOOH boy.. it was only 8dollars... but you got a heckofalot. It had this huge 2inch thick 6x6inch brownie.. topped with vanilla icecream, almonds, pecans, whipped cream, and hot fudge. *droooools* It was very yummy.. but I could only eat a little bit of it before I was full.

E got this thing called the Cookie sandwich.. Those cookies were really really really big. There were 2 of them.. 1 on top and 1 on bottom and the middle was filled with vanilla icecream.. He got through about half of it before he called it quits.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv40.jpg
The pic really doesn't do it justice.. it's alot bigger when it's sitting right in front of you :P lol

But I guess they're famous for this cake thing that they have. It's a 6layer cake that you can buy for 45dollars. Which I personally don't think is all that bad... but you can just buy a slice of the cake for 7-8 dollars... and as you can sorta see from this pic... those slices are a very nice size :P lol
((that's the cake in the back behind that white thing))
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/Shollia/lv3.jpg

And blah blah blah.. etc etc etc....
All in all... it was a pretty fun trip... there are it's downfalls though.. lemme list them! heh

The Smut Peddlers....they aren't pushy thank gawd when they're handing out the flyers... but just the fact that they're there doing what they're doing is enough to make me just shake my head.

Walking walking and walking some more. Good god I never want to walk that much again in my life. I have BAD feet.. I don't stand on them right or something so they get sore and blistered extremely easily.. so all of that walking and standing around nearly killed my poor feet.

Once you've seen one casino.. you've seen them all.

The preppies.... Now.. don't get me wrong. I could really care less what sorta person someone is.. but something about preps makes me want to vomit. And I swear every single preppy girl looked exactly like the next one.. with bleached blonde hair and boobs that were just as fake as the ones before her.

The prices. I know most tourist traps are expensive.. but Vegas... SHEESH. The prices for everything was insane.

And yadda yadda yadda.... It was fun but I'm happy to be home now

Glad you liked the trip. :) I live here so I get to see it everyday. :P

The TV shows usually do that to people, then they come here and it really isn't all that bad. I like to live here, everything is open 24 hours, and its fun. :)

P.S - The hotel you can't remember the name to is called The Venetian.

I live here too. It's pretty fun, looking at all the hotels and stuff. Some parts are a little creepy, like Fremont St. at night, but otherwise it's pretty cool.

The Claim Jumper is the best restaurant ever! I like their shoestring fries :D .

Glad you had fun. Thank you and come again!

I'm really glad you had fun, a lot of people have steroetypes of us like that, but you know, it's not true! Lol... don't believe everything you see on TV.

Heh, well, look at that! You attracted three Las Vegans to your board! *keeps an eye on board* I want to know how many PPTers live here.

Ooooh, looks like you had fun. I've always wanted to go to Las Vegas, just to see what it was like. Of course, my parents can never get a week or even 5 days off work at a time. The pictures were really cool, Shollia, thanks for posting them! I saw something about the M&M place on the Travel Channel...it's very...colorful.
