For those who aren't familiar with him, George Carlin was an award winning comedian who is best known for his "Seven Words You Cant Say on Television" skit. He had pretty obscene humor, but I loved it. I considered him among the best of the "old-school" comedians. (Now two of my favorite comedians are dead...Richard Jeni had to go and commit suicide a while ago.)

Oddly enough, he also played Mr. Conductor on the kids' show here in the US called "Shining Time Station." Right after Ringo Starr, lol.

I'll certainly miss him...he had more HBO specials than I could count and I loved them all.

Now, everyone...stop dying.

What's up with famous people I like dying lately? Come on, it's not cool. George Carlin was the first comic that I ever truly liked.

Now the world will be completely and forever smurfed. As if it wasn't already. I was actually watching his stuff on youtube when i flipped over to yahoo and saw the article last night that said he was dead. So it goes.

first Mitch Hedberg, now George Carlin. I just cant catch a comedic break!

But I was truly a fan of Carlin. I adore raunchy humor so he was always right up my alley.

He was also the 1st host of SNL. thats a huge accomplishment.

I usually don't feel this sad when someone famous dies. I feel for their families and their friends, but never an actual personal sadness. George Carlin is different. I truly admired him. His comedy was so intelligent and raw. He said everything that people were too afraid to say and he did it in a way that provoked conversation and made people laugh. It's quite tragic.
