For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

seeker, more glory
wizard chess or gobstones?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:24 am
Wizard Chess - more dark and violent.
Professor Quirrel or Bellatrix Lestrange?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:27 am
bellatrix, she has a personality, quirrell didn't!
the passage behind the statue of a witch or the one into the shrieking shack?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:48 am
The one behind the humpbacked witch please- as I'd rather visit Honeydukes/Hogsmeade than the Shrieking Shack. Besides, that chapter (The Marauder's Map) is one of my favourite ones in the entire series, together with The Prince's Tale and Snape's Worst Memory.
Dementors or Boggarts?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:14 pm
boggarts - you can get rid of them much easier.
hippogrifs or thestrals?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:33 pm
Hippogrifs... I'd rather not have to see a Thestral. Though I think if you can see them anyway, they're a whole lot more useful.
Beauxbatons or Durmstrang?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:52 pm
Beauxbatons

- I

French and France, and Durmstrang is too into the dark arts
Frank Bryce or Bathilda Bagshot?
Wed Nov 05, 2008 12:40 am
Bathilda, because I actually know who that is.
Florean Fortescue (the ice cream guy) or Ollivander?
Wed Nov 05, 2008 12:57 am
Ollivander - wandlore is ever so intriguing. (oh, and Bryce is the old muggle who gets killed by Voldemort at the beginning of OotP - the one the villagers thought had killed the Riddles)
Rat or Toad?
Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:42 am
Toad. Because they don't hurt when they bite.
Trelawney or Firenze?

You made me realize that since 2006, I would be able to see a thestral.
Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:49 pm
Firenze of course =)- he knows what he's talking about (apart from her once-in-every-7-year prophecies, Trelawny is a fraud!)...and it doesn't hurt that he's supposed to be really good looking too
The Marauder's Map or the Two-Way Mirrors?
Wed Nov 05, 2008 2:57 pm
Marauder's Map, definitely.
Percy or Umbridge?
Wed Nov 05, 2008 3:38 pm
Percy of course- Umbridge is just twisted/evil, Percy was misguided...but he came around in the end

Crabbe or Goyle?
Thu Nov 06, 2008 3:22 pm
Crabbe. Went out in style, he did.
The battle of Hogwarts or the battle at the Ministry?
Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:19 pm
Hogwarts -- way more epic.
most surprising love: Snape being in love with Lily vs. Dumbledore being in love with what's-his-name (Grindelwald?)?
or Aberforth and the goat?
