I'm fine with this pace. Although I did almost forget to submit my answer today! I think I got it in on time. I like trying to get up to 5 instead of getting knocked out in 3 -- it lets everyone play to the end.

Well, the question is due tomorrow, but thanks for sending it today :)

It will be posted sometime between 3-6 EST (12-3 NST).

I'll have steady internet access this weekend (I'm staying somewhere else)

Still need to submit: Urthdigger, Pixa (with a question too! c'mon it's as easy as yes or no!)

So I have internet access at home again (there is a slight chance that it might go down again).

So Expect Questions to be posted at 6PM NST. Answers, of course, are due by then.

I'm going to update the front page with how this point system works.

and Urthdigger, you owe me!

Loser stood up in the small dingy room that she had forced everyone in.

"Yes, I see you are all eager to know what the results are..."

The crowd nervously looked in her direction.

"And good news! For some of you!"

So was it a rhetorical question?

Yes- (5) Siniri, Blake, Crazy, amarise, StuMan
No- (5) pipsqueeek, Wind, Katherine, Pardona, Pixa
No awnser- Urthdigger

"We don't have a loser here, and that means we don't have a winner. Ah well, hopefully you will have more diverse answers with our next question.

"So, Pixa, as our newest submitter, what would you like to ask the group?"

Pixa was handed a megaphone, and he asked "Pure mathematics or applied mathematics?"

And so, tune in tomorrow at 6 PM NST to watch the scandal, murder, lies and who gets the points!

Nash Equilibrium! Whee!

Meaning that, if any individual person last round took into account all the other player's actions, it would be impossible for them to make a better move than they did, because if any person chose the other answer, that answer would have been a majority. This even applies to Urthdigger, strangely, because if he would have picked an option, he would have made a majority, causing the other 5 people to each get a point. That's bad for him, so if he knew what everyone else was doing, he actually did the best move by not sending in an option.

Oh, yes, and Game Theory is a branch of APPLIED MATHEMATICS.

Darn it, if you know me well enough you should know what I'll answer :P
No way I could lie to this question.

No way I could lie to this question.

Which is why I voted yes -- I figured there would be too many people bugged by that answer for it to be a majority. (Really, the choices should have been "no" and "..." with a condescending look, but yes/no was easier.)

Crazy, epidemiology is also a form of applied mathematics. When I took linear algebra, the course focused on pure mathematics, but I have since applied it to several simultaneous equation problems, including a a NP Lenny Conundrum. But the real conundrum is not whether I should pick applied or pure, but whether you think I (and most everyone else) shall pick applied or pure, and also whether you think I think you shall pick applied or pure. And yes, this is an application of game theory (in which I am currently taking a class, funnily enough), but with no mathematics.

Now you must think, does the difference in the number of times I wrote "applied or pure" have any significance? Is it a hint as to what I picked? Or is it to throw you off? Am I a Sicilian? Is death on the line?

(so my dad's house also has faulty internet access, go figure)

Loser wrestled the megaphone from Pixa and stood up, and by her sly smile you could tell that there was some people that were going to be disappointed

"The Results are in! Math Nerds Rejoice!
Applied- (5) Katherine, Pixa, amarise, Blake, Stuman
Pure- (4) Siniri, Wind, pipsueeek, Crazy
No answer- Pardona, Urthdigger"

As the high fives were going around, loser handed the megaphone to Crazy

He happily grasped it, and shouted into it "Are you evil or super-evil?"

Ok, y'all have 24 hours to send a reply.

You know the drill. Well, almost.
From now on it would be nice to use this format for your PMs
Subject: Minority Rules Question #
Body: No need to quote the question or the post. Answer and optional witty comment are enough.

I've also updated the rules, so now if you get to negative 3 points, you are eliminated. *cough*

You might want to edit that and PM me a different (or the same) response.
