So many complaints. It was a free event. I'm sure they were dissapointed at the glitch as much as everyone else. And we hardly 'participated', we just clicked and got free stuff. I'm sure we'll get our little finale gift in the end.
Also something tells me it was "botched" as ye so delightfully put it because the gift was linked to the NC Mall. Which appears to have trouble from time to time when giving out free NC.
I think the site should have 24 hours downtime with;
"Sorry neopets is down. Not for maintenance, just to shut you lot up ya whiny little crabs!!" ;-)
Well... that's the idea... IT WAS FREE for something that usually costs CASH MONEY. There are lots of kids/teens not old enough to have a job yet and otherwise have to beg their parents for money to buy the NC cash cards or have their parents buy those cards. This site started as a kid's site, but adults got into it and excited about the safe environment as well being pretty fun! I being one of those parents myself! I've been on Neopets for over 5 years now... my son is almost 15 now, he discovered this site through some friends of his when he was 9. He gets a very small allowance to work with, so anything to be bought comes from me, in general.
There's nothing wrong with some of us being disappointed or feeling let down by the various glitches - be it games, plots, or especially the NC Mall! And I'm also a paying Premium member, so that makes it even more aggravating! What the heck am I paying for every month if the only thing I get out of it is an advertising free website? It's kind of nice getting a chance to NOT have to pay for something - even if it is minimal.
I can understand the site's problems with the probable overload of 'participants' - especially for those in other countries that otherwise don't have access yet to get the cards or want to sign up with PayPal. Not everyone has a credit card - believe it or not.
The biggest gripe I have is the
almost avoidance of TNT giving us an apology and explanation for the situation.
