SS isn't my favorite, but having gotten the avvie for it back in my crazy avatar catch-up in September, AAA's score was doable on my first try. I probably would've gotten a higher score if my keyboard batteries hadn't died in the middle of the game, heh. Ah well. It's done and take care of.

Congrats on ICM, Blue! Bummer on not getting the day of prize for MVB, though. One minute, ugh.

Does this mean everyone is up to date on beating all AAA challenges here? If so, woot!

Thanks P! Yeah, one minute. Ah well, I am happier that (1) I beat AAA, and more importantly, I didn't let down my Team Challenge partner.

It took nearly an hour to get the score needed. The first 3 levels went pretty quick, as I had started to get the hang of the "spike serve", but those stop working on level 4, so it took much longer at that point. And even then, I entered the last level knowing it would be close.

Never again. MVB. Never. Again.

I highly doubt any of my remaining missing game avvies will come up. 3 are from lands we've already visited, 2 from Neopia Central (which we may or may not go back to, but they're not exactly the most likely games for a DD), and 2 are from Meridell...and if either of those two are picked, it'll be...special.

Dubloon Disaster. 1000 for AAA. This will be hard for me. I don't have patience with games like this.

Decided to go with a different type of stategy here.

1. Start game over until you get a gold (or high silver) dubloon.
2. Collect 2 dubloons.
3. Round up both enemies until they crash into each other.
4. Repeat from step 2.

I got to 620 then a mine spawned under me. So I think this will be the only way I will get to 1000. Tried the normal way but I can't steer around that many enemies.

Also you could always just start game over until you get the 1000 dubloon straight up.

Thanks, Daze! Also, just as an FYI, because I didn't see it on the guide I was using, if you beat all the levels of MVB, you get 250 points for winning instead of 50 after round 6.

One of the games I often play just for fun, yay! (Okay, call me crazy if you want, but for some reason, I like it. I actually scored over 15k on this 5+ years back, and nabbed myself a pretty gold trophy mid-month.)

I use the "herding" strategy: basically, get the mines in close proximity to each other, but not close enough to blow, and then go around the group in circles to collect. This avoids (for the most part) the chance of a mine spawning underneath you. It requires a lot of patience, though, to move the "herd" away from coins (going back and forth in a semi-circle method will move them roughly evenly), but aside from a random whirlpool, it's not a problem for spawning. It's kinda like this guy does.

I will tackle it this afternoon, as I don't have time this morning.

Finally after hours of trying, I got the 1000 dubloon at the start. I wanted to keep going to see if I could get the avatar but a mine spawned right under me when I collected the dubloon.

I don't know if it is 'thing' but every time I got to 600+ a mine would spawn under me.

Another weapon as a prize today. I wonder if JS are finally looking into the battledome.

I'm wondering a bit about the battledome, too, but I'm not holding my hopes up. I did start training again a few weeks ago, for kicks.

Taken care of. I decided to see how far I could go (and see how long it would take to get a better than 50 point dubloon), for kicks, and got careless at 2450 instead of being patient to move my "herd" out of the way. However, in that entire time, the highest dubloon I got was worth 50 points. So...you can go for a WHILE without seeing the 500 and 1000 point ones. Or even the 250 ones.

I loathe this game. I was at 955 and 2 in my herd boomed each other. The next was a 10-pointer. And the 2nd mine spawned directly under me. Ugh. I've been playing it non-stop since I got home from youth group at least an hour ago (I think more like an hour and a half), and that was the closest I got... I just want to cry now. This is one of the worst games ever. I'd rather get 25k in Spinacles.

ETA: Wow. I took a ~5 min. break, started just a handful of games before getting a 250 to start, and then managed several 25s and 50s and another 250. Got a whirlpool at 960 (my first one), but I managed to stay out of it. Thankfully my next coin spawned far enough away, and then I got a 50 and new I had it clinched. Ended around 1150 or so; I stopped being careful.

Phew. Thought I was going to lose out on the same-day prize, especially since I couldn't start until after 9pm tonight. All gold checks so far though!

Good grief. 1k on Dubloon Disaster? I've done it before - now need to do it again in the next 2 hours and 2 minutes.

ETA: 1055 with 17 minutes to spare. I do not hate this game, but it is such a tedious game... In general, I use the 2 mines at a time stragetgy. Biggest tip I can provide is that turning is the best brake. Basically, while sitting still, aim the boat, fly as fast as you can and then turn to stop.

13 gold ticks for AAA. Hope I don't jinx myself, but this is the best I have ever done.

This one is easy for the needde score. Got it on my first try with a 1016, but then, I often play this one for a quick 3k a day (if the ratio is good, which it is currently not). If you need a guide on where to shoot, I strongly recommend this one.

It took me a few tries; I kept having bad luck on the levels with the enemies, but it didn't take too long. Much much faster than yesterday.

Much easier today than the last few days. Thanks for the guide, Pickles. It was very helpful. I thought about playing again for a better score because my meager 620 seemed rather poor, but it's good enough to beat AAA, so... Meh.

I have 13 total checks - 11 gold and 2 green. The two green being AAA completed but not on the challenge day.

ETA: Compulsion got the better of me. New high score of 998. Still seems like I could do better, and two points below 1k...

AAA's score is 1,750.

Based on my high score, I went right ahead and challenged AAA. However, I do remember that this game is a pain...

ETA - Be REALLY careful at the end of a game. If you accidentally release the mouse over the "send score" it will send your score. 5x already! Not good.

ETA2 - I really dislike this game

I knew I would jinx myself!! 1184 is my highest. This one will test me.

I can't make it to 1 second because I keep getting the auto-game over issue I had in Chariot Chase. Looks like I'll have to clean my computer and adjust my monitor settings again (hope it works; if not, I guess I can go to the library to play).
