I just checked. It's 2am no matter your time zone. Which makes sense.

I'm too East-Coast-centric. Your ocean is totally on the wrong side, too. It's weird. It makes the whole world feel upside down.

Really, your ocean is on the wrong side. If the earth was not flat, preventing the two from ever connecting, then I might be concerned. Thankfully, that is not the case... :P

It looks like they preserved the "day before" data and restored it for today. My counter reflects the right amount of remaining days - 12, pre-spin...
