And claudej brought up an interesting point: there are no boosts after you reach 700 Str or 700 Def (visit the IDB for more info on multipliers and boosts). However, we keep counting them, because your strength and defense DO affect your performance as they increase, even if there are no more boosts.

How exactly would they affect your performance? Any strength or defense above 700 will always give you the SAME effect in the battledome if it's 1000 strength or 700 strength.

No, not quite.

The quick and dirty formula is Strength x boost x icons = damage

That's why it's better to have, say, 699 strength than 651. The boost is the same, but the damage you produce is more. So 700 is the last time you'll get a boost, but it's not the last time the damage you cause will go up.

Um shapu, I think I can call myself a seasoned battler, and your damage does NOT go up if you are still within the same boost. Trust me, I did the same damage with 500 strength as I did with 549 strength.

I see. Well, I stand corrected then. I have allowed myself to mislead uhm....my....self. Right.

However, I suggest we still count str/def above 700.
