try 3212 more than five times and let me know if you get a different response

it seems that only certain spell numbers produce more than one result, for example 321 just gave me one result....this is very strange

You shouldn't be getting 13 -- you have an error in your math or initial coordinates. What are your coordinates?

the room coordinates, do you count 0 as 1 or 1 as 1 when you try to find the room?

Your coordinates are incorrect. The first number in the coordinates (x) should be ascending by 40 every ti me. Your number are not equaly spaced. The second or Y coordinat should go down by 30 twice and then back up.

Either you looked at your numbers wrong, or you're looking at the wrong constilation. The sleeper is the slanty eyes one.

If you're math-impaired, try pasting into Excel (or similar) and adding the columns. I was about to offer help, but we're having a thunderstorm, so I'll be off-line for a while (sorry to those with whom I've been PM'ing who are still having trouble; try reposting to the forum).

After realising I had been using the coordinates for the Dreamer instead of the Sleeper, I used the Sleeper, and found my book on 19th tab in room 18, 12. Goodness, this theory actually works!

okay so for people who foudn there spell books are we just randomly punching numbers for now? Also any idea what:

"This spellbook contains 52,143 distinct spells! Which one do you want to cast?" means does it mean that prehaps i should only try spells numbered 52 - 143? Any ideas?

I cast it like 10 times, always the same response.



Also, I tried to apply the forumula to the coordinates of the dreamer and searched that room. No spellbooks there. Hopefully we'll have just the one.

Okay here's the scoop (it seems). There are 20 different canned responses for spells. It seems the responses are pseudo-random, that the result is somehow based on the number, but it wasn't hard coded in as a 1:1 correspondence between a certain spell and a certain result. That's why stuff like 1.5 works, and generates a different result than just 1, or 2.

I'm working on a program right now that will run all the combinations looking for a result other than the canned 20, but I can't get the post data to send right yet :-(

For any programmers out there, here's the spell array I'm testing against:

so i get

x= 684 , 6+8+4 = 18
y: -648, -6+4+8 = 6

and that room i hecked each book and got nothing.
