This means very little to me.

It's fast enough for day-to-day but the upload speed can be irritating.

I read somewhere that Australians have really bad broadband, that wouldn't ven qualify for broadband elsewhere. Is this true, or just... someone having a go at Telstra.

The reason why it's so slow for the second one is that NYC is about 10,350 miles away from you, so of course the connection to it will be extremely slow.

Uh...1154 kbps down, 211 kbps up. :roflol:

I used SpeedTest.net and the Atlanta server.
We have sucky DSL here. We're right on the fringe of our area. We even switched DNS servers and stuff. Our cable is just as bad -- speeds are great, but it can't stay on a week. We had the cable internet for a month, and we got so many credits on the bill (because the cable TV sucks too), we only paid for a PPV movie! :roflol:

If we still lived in downtown Greer, we could've mooched off of their Wi-Fi. We had great internet there, because we were less than a mile from BellSouth's office. XD
