I clicked the link under my Avant browser for her "dropped" items and it said she wasn't there. To double check, I opened IE and clicked the flashy alert button. Same situation. Anyone else having this problem?

*raises hand* Yes, I am.

From what little HTML I know, it looks like yesterday's link occasionally comes up, instead of an updated one. So unless you see today's date by it or a change in the link URL, it's not going to be a real alert.

is it worth it for me to install neopets toolbar just for her giveaway? or has that stopped?

Tarla's giveaway is ongoing. She doesn't turn up everyday, but she is still active. :)

If you don't mind downloading the toolbar, it is worth doing.

There is also a quick link to the toolbar which some of us use for different reasons but mainly due to glitchiness or incompatibility.

The boards and some on here will post the link (it is different every time) to her giveaway. You do not need the toolbar if you use the link.

I downloaded the toolbar but for whatever reason, IE kept giving me error messages, I uninstalled and re-installed 3 times since the start of Tarla but cannot stop the error messages.

I use the quick link to the toolbar and rely on other's to Alert me. :)

Yes, same thing happened to me yesterday and this morning (in IE) :/ It says she dropped a few items on her way out but when I click I'm told she's at the warehouse and I'll get a message when she's back.

u have to look at the timestamp also. it probably says 02/23/07 right now. earlier it blinked though and had todays timestamp and had the usual blurb of nothing. it's glitchy but the toolbar does work from time to time.

Tarla is acting up (can it be considered 'again' if it is ongoing?)..clicked on the alert button and it said she was on her way out, clicked the prize link, it said she wasn't there, I clicked the alert button again and got the same 'on her way out' message, I clicked the prize link again and got the quiggle plushie...which was the main prize. So, I don't know what's up with that. :/

and the advertising wasn't there. Which was odd seeing as they always made such a big deal about the advertising being on that page.

I elaborated a little bit in my previous post. I had the same problem just now though. it had the event message about she was on her way out. From 2/23/07 though... I tried it once more and came up with the same results. I tried a hard refresh (ctrl+F5) and the current alert popped up which brought me to the Tarla's Toolbar Treasures! screen and I got the plushie. I'm wondering if the cookies or cache is acting the reason why it's been so bothersome?

Well, the hard refresh showed me today's alert, but when I click on the link, I get "Tarla is at the prize warehouse right now. She'll send you a message on your Toolbar when she gets back."

I figured I was too late, but why am I still getting the alert and not the "I'm sorry, you're too slow" message?

Another Alert! Try to see if you can get it. I already claimed one prize today.

It worked for me this time. (Thanks, I probably wouldn't have known this time was real without the update to this thread.) It seems Tarla's double glitching now. Not only is there the 2/23 "dropped things" false message, but it seems that Tarla is stuck on the main prize giveaway message, so even if she's long gone, if you click it'll keep giving you that same message. (Well, that message or the even more outdated 2/23 one.)

Glad that someone could make use of the alert. It's got to be a glitch, programming, cookie, etc. causing the issue. I wouldn't know where to start in trying to figure out the root cause of it though. :( I'm willing to bet that several of the 'false alerts' people have gotten are in fact real it's just that clicking on the alert button doesn't go to the latest one so it's messing everyone up. I could be wrong but i got a prize today and on the second time I got the "only 1 prize per day message." So I guess when in doubt be sure to click on the window that pops up and hit ctrl+F5.
