How much are the przies from golden keys worth on average? I've played KeyQuest for the first time today and in my third batch of prizes I've gotten a Kew Codestone... Was I just super lucky?

You were pretty darned lucky. I've redeemed 593 gold keys and only gotten 2 red codestones from them (and no paintbrushes yet).

Generally, unless you get codestones or neggs, or the more "rare" prizes, the gold key prizes are worth less than 75nps each at this point, with the exception of the "spoo-key" books.

Has anyone else had trouble playing Key Quest today? I played fine about 15 hours ago, but over the past few hours, I either get stuck on the loading screen, the page to choose your starting house, or I get booted from the game by my second turn :/ Could it be because of the Halloween prizes? Or is there something else going on?

It's been really laggy for me today. People keep getting booted, and I've had one heck of a time with the mini games.

I have no problem running the game itself, but more often than not the mini games get laggy for me and I end up losing them. :(

And for some reason, I can't figure out the maze one to save my life. I swear, I must be dense or something :-P

The faellie maze game is absolutely HORRIBLE. I hate that game. Whenever I see it come up as the minigame we're about to play I get so upset because it runs so slow! It's almost impossible to win.. even if you get to the center of the maze first you can still lose with the lower number of points! UGH! /endrant ;)

I can't even get to the middle of the maze because I run into the darn brown wall blocking and can't figure out how I'm supposed to get rid of it...hehe.

Is it possible to report someone that you suspect of cheating?

I just played a game with someone who I believe was cheating. During the Faellie maze mini-game, the person had the wooden barriers broken down before they got to them, and during the Zomutt digging mini-game, the person ended up with more points than me, but collected no gems. :x

I highly doubt it is cheating.

Unfortunately KQ requires high specs - 2GB RAM, 256mb graphic card. Unless you have close to this as well as highspeed connection and a decent sized CPU, then you are going to have all sorts of problems.

The most obvious problem is the mini-games - either one or both of the following is the problem:

Computer lag/game is out of sync - this is causing you to see the 'past' - ie, your opponent has already dug the gems/broken the doors, but you are slightly behind on your screen. Even though you still see the gems, the opponent has already dug them by the time you have caught up.

It happens to me all the time (and many others, you just have to visit the KQ board) - I have screenies to show the time delay and that is a very common problem.

You can usually tell if you have a big delay by the amount of time you sit on the 'Waiting' screen.

Luckily the mini-games don't always give keys, but power-ups instead, so that makes it a little fairer.

Good luck with all your future games.

200gb ram Its impossible to have that much ram. The highest I heard you can get is 5gb.

I thinks it needs to be configured so people on dial up can play.

EDIT: How did this happen on my comp

Obviously a typo on my behalf, I have fixed it.

If the screenie is to show no background, I have heard it happening before. It happened once to me, but at the start, so I left.

The game probably didn't load properly.

KQ is not a finished product, even though TNT are so proud to have it released. It contains more bugs than an entomologist's apartment and it doesn't surprise me that weird things happen.

Yep, and regular prizes again. <watches codestone prices inch up from 3300 to 3700>

On a brighter note, the Royal tokens are working now. Played with them last night and had a blast! :D

Does anyone know how to work the petpet circle game. I can't seem to circle any petpets. And everytime someone else circles It cancels out my circle. Hm this mini game and the maze one ruin the game or it could be my internet connection stuffing things up.

Are you circling the right type of petpet?
May's First post of this thread wrote:Petpet Snare - In this game, you will have to use your mouse to draw a "loop" around the various petpets. The petpet you need to draw your loop around will be indicated at the top of the game board. You can draw a loop around more than one petpet, but the petpets must be of the same species. If your loop touches a different petpet, your loop is invalid. Also, if one of your opponents makes a successful loop while you're in the middle of your loop, you must start your loop over. The person snaring the most petpets wins.
