Hint for the puzzle: put in the strangely-shaped pieces first (the anchors, mops, and ropes) and move them around until you don't have any single (alone) squares left. Then the flat pieces will go in pretty easily. You may need to shift the pieces you've already put in (up one row, down one row, right or left) but you will find that they'll stay the same in relation to each other.

oh wow, i did it! i put the odd shapes together first until i had them fit together so that there was only the straight pieces left and it worked! Thank you to whoever suggested it, i can't see your name right now while i'm posting.
all i got was a picture of the captain and that little guy, forgot his name....and a link back to the journal, is that all there is suppose to be?

Shapu, if you still need help, I think I've solved your puzzle for you. You were on the right track, with the corner-shaped piece of rope at the bottom, you just need to move the box down next to the rope. (I know you want hints, so that's a good place to start.)

Press the 'prt sc', or print screen button on your keyboard. Should be on the upper right. Past the image into a program like paint or photoshop, and crop it-there should be a tool too cut out the part you want. Save it as a jpg, and upload it to a site like photobucket.com.
