Winter Sidebar...

I didn't get it. I actually don't really care about it so I haven't been doing what most people have and doing heaps of things in the hope that I'd get it-

-I have collected every day

- I probably watched most of the animations all the way through, though not todays because I thought it was finished when the paintbrush painted across the screen. I think there were a few others I skipped past as well because I couldn't be bothered watching. Though is there any way they could tell you watched it the whole way through?

- I withdrew a Icy Snowball from my inventory today before I went just for the heck of it

- I have bought about 11-12 Scratchcards from Terror Trove over the month. Haven't scratched any and only bought one in the last week or so

- Played Snowball Fight a few times in the past few weeks

That's pretty much it. Mentioned the last two because they seemed to fit the 'winter/snow/etc' theme.

One thing I find amusing (probably not the right word but meh) is that people were so determined to get it they did heaps of stuff that could be related yet even though most seem to have gotten it, nobody can figure out what they've got in common. Figures, I guess.

I clicked "collect my prize" at the Advent Calendar every day this year.

i got it.
i haven't been on neopets much this month.. but i did visit the snowager this month (and won something from him.. and not won something from him). i didn't see the snowager at all last year and never got the sidebar. my best friend did get the sidebar last year and she went to the snowager a lot then.. so.. maybe it has something to do with that.

I received it this year.

* Account is 80 months old.
* Collected every day, and I think watched all animations all the way through before collecting.
* Nothing in inventory except for two non-Christmas things in trades.
* I gave out a lot of items this month, sent a merry Christmas card (the item) earlier in the month, and gave someone items on Christmas.
* Lots of Snowager.
* I think I did a Taelia quest, but I can't remember.
* I read all books we got to one of my pets.
* I have at least one of all the items in my SDB.
* Didn't mess with snowballs at all this month unless I got one from the healing springs or Taelia, in which case I just put it in my SDB.
* I put up the Christmas Acara shopkeeper for the heck of it right before I went to the AC today.
* I have the Wreathy avatar active.
* Pets were all delighted (except for active pet, who is only fine)
* No Christmas pets or petpets.
* I bought lots of scratch cards and scratched at least two this month.
* I have both a tree and fireplace in my neohome, if that has anything to do with anything.

Other than that, can't think of anything related to the holidays that I really did....

I got the side bar.
I got every advent calendar this year.
Right before I collected it, i took out every advent item from my SDB.
I visited no other page but the news, the front page, my items, and the SDB.

Does everyone who got it had all their pets healty/happy and full?

I had snowballs in my inventory. No snow/xmas pets or petpets. No neopoints on hand. All my pets are in the Neo-lodge. Only painted pet is my Grey Lupe. Only limited edition pet was my Lutari.

I didn't get it either

-I didn't go to the snowager.
-I didn't have a snow pet or petpet at all
-I didn't do a scratch card
-I didn't watch all the animations before collecting the prizes (but watched them after)
-I missed one day of prizes (x-mas day)
-I didn't have a snowball / snowflake in my inventory
-I did have all the AC prizes (I collected) in my inventory all month
-I didn't play a snow game (that I can think of..)


Erm...yeah, thinking about it I didn't really deserve the sidebar

It really looks like you have to have collected prizes every day and fulfilled at least one other criteria involving winter/snow/x-mas.

Technicly it is possible to mark wether you've watched all the animations beforehand if they put a marker at the end of the animation when it loops. It's a hassle, but it's possible.

Correction on my list, my active pet was "delighted!", the fine I saw was the hunger.

My other pets were all delighted, but dying in hunger because I forgot to reinstate them in the neolodge after the time ran out a little while ago.

I don't think you have to have anything in your inventory; I had two non-holiday items, both of which are currently locked in trading status.

Seriously, I have no idea what I did. I've done nothing special and collected my prizes every day (for the past three years, actually). So I've really no idea. I would have visited the Snowager last year, because I would have wanted the avatar greatly, I suppose. Nothing snow in my inventory. However, I'm very thankful I actually got the sidebar. Time for a change!

Maybe your pets just need to be happy?
