It seems that the plot steps are given already. We haven't had to figure out ANY steps so far.
Shhh! Don't give them any ideas!

tip for latest puzzle
My tip might be a cheap trick, but it works wonders: as with other ppl's tips, turn each ring one symbol at a time so that you can determine which symbols you have in your solution. My twist was to try all in succession and if I got a puzzle with 3 or 4 of the same symbols, then I'd work with that. If not, I'd run the game out by hitting the red button and getting a new puzzle, and I kept going until I did get one with 3 or 4 of the same symbols. In other words, keep going until you get a puzzle that you can "luck out" on! It greatly reduces the number of tries wasted on figuring out the symbols, so you can concentrate on getting them in the right place.
If anyone uses this and it helps, you're welcome!

Thanks everyone who posted that I just needed to refresh. It was pretty late last night when I was doing it and I had closed neopets without even trying that. This morning when I tried it, just as with the others, I found that it told me I had completed the puzzle.
That being over with...
I wish there was more to the puzzle- that you could keep doing it like fighting the monster, or something.
*sigh!*
and for what it's worth, I guess I was KINDA right about it being Time Tunnel, right? do I get partial credit at least? *wink*

This is quite easy... It takes a little while, but it's pretty easy.
The trick is to right it down.
Name each of the objects.
Test all of the objects on the first circle, and underline which objects are yellow, and cross out those that have no effect.
You'll have something like
SHAPE A
SHAPE B
SHAPE E
SHAPE F
then it's just a matter of finding which shape goes in which posistion.
Good luck!

Green means that one of the symbols is in the right place, and yellow means you have the correct symbol in the line but not in the right circle.
The placement of the green has nothing to do with the symbol which is correct - i.e. if the first oval lights up green, it doesn't mean that the first symbol is correct, it just means that ONE of the symbols is correct.

I'm anxious to see what we picked up. Could it be a compass of sorts?
Or a cool key, perhaps?

Kyuubi made me this totally awesome set!!
