"One... five, seven...eleven...wait, what the...?" she mumbled to herself.
Lance had said twelve, and reality started hitting Katrina. Hey, no way, I didn't join this one to DIE, she thought to herself, having her cheeks get a bit red. Trying to calm herself down a bit Katrina took a few deep breaths and got up from the canapé.
"Lance, darling, see you later, you know I never spend my nights here anyway," she said with her honey voice, avoiding eye contact with Lance and exiting the foyer the same way she had entered it.
As Katrina got out to the pitch black street she gasped for air clinging to the tavern wall. The echo of her high heels hitting the pavement echoed down the street as she rushed forward, seeming to have a destination at mind already.
Rounding the corner Katrina slipped silently into a small bar, walking confidently to the bar disk and sitting down next to a couple of others, people, with one of them seeming to be just a bit younger than Katrina. What ever happened to age limits, she asked herself as she placed her small purse onto the table in front of her.
"Adner, give me the strongest that you've got, I need it," Katrina said to the bartender.
