Customizing Pets! (split)

wanted to add my own. I dont really like how nay of the pets on my main account look, considering grundos stuff stinks and ruki has nothing yet, but I had fun with the pets on my sides.

I really like the lupe redraw as well

Just curious about customization. Do accounts / pets need to be a certain age? My side account is only a month old (ditto for Flappy). TanCoul is only 105 days old. Are certain pets not finished in the customization window? I know they have lutari art... so all I can think of is the age of my pet.

I have a red Aisha who is 29 days old and has six letters in his name that can't be customized.

I just assumed Lutari couldn't be customized because they don't have any colors with any sort of clothes to wear. I mean..island yeah. But nothing else.

Technically I can customise all of my pets, but two of them (my mutant xweetok and mutant cybunny) only have backgrounds available ie no clothes or accessories. I don't think age is a factor, as 3 of my 4 pets on my marauders-themed side account (who are all only 88 days all) are fully customisable. Also my mutant cybunny is my one of my oldest pets at 2079 days old!

I admit, Im stuck on the horror. It looks like a plain white grundo with a few gray spots. There isnt one mallow grundo redraw anywhere on the site that has arms and legs. Looking like a marshmallow is their standard look, no matter what style its drawn in. Hopefully TNT realize that certain pets simply wont work in the standard fist-pose. Especially pets that dont even have hands. If they dont add pose variety, a lot of the dramatically different pets will really look strange.

Yeah, they should have a "toasty" marshmallow look. MmmMMMmm.

And I agree, I was shocked they seemed to turn my Mallow Grundo into what looked like an ordinary white one to me. Maybe they can redo the style more like a Staypuff, lol. But I agree, their whole character is that they are marshmallows without arms and legs. Even in the TCG cards.

For the first time I am starting to have mixed feelings about all this. :roll:

At the moment, nope. I haven't been able to and it seems it is a common glitch going by the boards.

It also seems that you can't have the same background for 2 or more pets, or at least that is what is happening to me.

Actually you can there should be selectable circles under your non active pets and click them to make them active

First off I want to say that I have decided to adore this feature. First I figured I'd wait a bit to see how it goes, but meh, I've wanted them to do this since I first got on Neopets and now they have, so what's there to complain about.

Honestly you say "it's a great plan, but badly executed" now bright sparks explain to me how it could've been better executed? If you don't think you can put up with the redraws then just don't customize it, that's all.

Like I will with my bori...maybe:

Other than that I have only one problems with it:
1) It's flash (I'm on a slooow connection) {but then this is a problem I have with Neopets in general, they're adding more and more flash *sigh*}

PS if the fistiness is to hold a staff or such, how does my bori do it?

PPS for those worried about the pound...if you're going to be stupid enough to put your pet up for adoption with the clothes still on him that's just your stupidity. It's like the petpets.

The radio buttons are glitchy, that is why some of us can't select another pet while they are customised. I have clicked on the button many times throughout the day to try it, but nothing happens.

Okay, now that I've had a chance to see some more redraws, I agree, eewwwww some are awful.

I think we shouldn't worry about paintbrushes. I'm sure that paint brush specific clothing won't be available unless you actually paint your pet that color, and won't be sellable. They can easily do that by either not having the items actually show up in your inventory when you take them off, or simply making them non tradable, like starter paint brushes and petpets.

I think this is a cool feature, although my pets will mostly just wear jewelry, they don't wear clothes. Too bad though that there will never be the exact items that will match my pet's custom look (like Lyre, see?) But still, it'll be fun to play around with.

I agree I doubt the paintbrush items will be sellable, I think its the estimated value on them that scares people, I think even plot items have an estimated worth so don't worry.

Cersie I agree the marshmallow redraw his horrible, I say don't generalize the pets so they can all wear the same things like they are trying to make every pet hold a wand. Say for the marshmallow, its clothes could be maybe it being slightly brown on top or maybe some chocolate sauce on top. But other then the generalizing of pets I have no complaints, I'm sure TNT will get it right

They should just grin and bear it; let limbless marshmallow grundos end up with silly floating gloves and weapons and crap.

Course, some of the pets could look too normal just due to time constraints in getting the beta out.

My lab pet (who was customized) changed species today, and when I went to check it out, he was in the redraw pose but naked. When I clicked on customize and error popped up and said three items had been removed because they weren't compatable. It didn't give me any clothes options, just backgrounds. Once I reset all my pets I could customize my lab pet fully.

Oh, and my young pet can be customized now. I hate the aisha redraws, but I love the robot aisha.
