I haven't the time to read all of this, so I'll just comment.

It is just so hard to navigate! I really prefered the last one.

This probably messed up all of the look up layouts that people did.

I'm still trying to read all of the FAQ's and other stuff to find out what does what and how it all works.

Although I am glad that items from PB's cannot be sold or traded, that will stop people from disguising pets as rarer ones.

But I know they are trying their best, and that is what counts for me :)

*hands Inrun a kleenex* You know. *pokes Inrun* You were around then. Lots of us were. Things were different then. And those who are new to the site (meaning after Viacom bought it) never got the chance to grow up with this site. And, gosh, they have no idea what they missed. Good times. Not always the most fun (like when petpets turned into apples), but still and all, something that just can't be found on the site anymore.

I generally hate living in the past, but honestly, I feel the burn this time. I miss being able to neomail the artists and the staff and have honest conversations with them. Some of them were super awesome, and now I just feel... ya know... not all that in touch with them. Adam and Donna were both cool beans. They both came here, other staff came here too (some still do i'm sure), but it was still different. I think one fo the main reasons i'm drifting away is that the sites just... not the same. It's very commercial, i'm finding it political and biased and i'm tired of that.

And now I hate how they redrew my Tyrannian Lupe. So i'm more upset.
(Seriously, it's head looks detatched from it's body). As much as I appreciate what they're trying to do, one of the things I loved was the personable nature in which Neopets was handled, but now... eh.

I've been on the site a long... long... time. And it's strange to see it like this now. I don't know if i'll ever get used to it. I probably won't. The old site was getting wierd for me to handle what with the game room and all... but now? Blech.

I personally, being me, I hate the new layout... yes I know hate it a very strong word, but I don't think it's easier when getting to other pages, I now think it's harder...

When on a page, I now have ot scroll over to the right, I don't have that on my mouse, I have a scroll down, but not to the right... grr!

Also.. the freebies and stuff, I'm sure are already bookmarked, or many have them on premium, or the toolbar, so I beleive this was a dumb move, I liked it in it's 90's style. which is technically not, because they did some revamping a few years back...

I like that I can go directly to the bank. I think that as I get used to the features that I'll like the layout better than the old one.

*Applauds Morningstar* Ahh, I too remember the glory days of neo. (As well as some of the black nights.) What made it so great was it's uniqueness, the way it was directed towards the users, and especially how it was made for young adults. The bad graphics, the rip-off games, the quirky British-isms, all made the site feel warm and homey. The best part was, you knew you mattered, and that made neo feel like 'your' site, and not just another web SIM. Now, it feels corporate and kiddish, and user opinions don't seem to be respected any more. I'd rather have bad graphics, with a 90's feel, than slick flash images and content increasingly directed towards just children.

Funny how yesterday's news was so negative. "You are not prepared." Making us think that maybe we need to take caution. Rather than something positive and upbeat like "Just wait til tomorrow when we knock your freaking sox off." Like they knew that many of us would be upset with it. Funny, huh?

Has anyone else noticed the site running faster since the redesign? I'm speaking especially to the dialup users, since that's what I am. Everything just seems to be moving faster, and it doesn't seem to be related to my computer.

I think it may be a little faster. But it still hurts my eyes. Everything looks stretched out and jumbled up to me.

YES!!!! It is faster! I noticed that immediately. One of the reasons I love it.

Troggy, I lucked out too. Well, on most of my pets, anyway. My Maraquan jubjub looks a bit silly, but he's still a keeper. My kougra wasn't changed too much. Thankfully. And TNT gave me the option to keep my girl usuki as she was (I can't wait to see pics of the new version). But I feel for those who paid a lot of nps for pbs to paint their pets a certain way and now they get a pet that looks like "'Spongebob Squarepants' vomited on them," to quote Johnnydontgo. The gelerts, aishas, and unis look absurd. I haven't had the heart to check out other pets. I have put up with redraws for years. We all have. But they were slight and gradual. Not like getting a cement block dropped on our heads.

Probably because most of the coding in the userlookups and shops don't work anymore.

I just looked at my Usuls. They're still cute... although my strawberry girl looks kinda like she's got weeping sores all over her body rather than seeds. But I'm nitpicking. :)

I honestly think I could deal with the site redesign... IF THEY LEFT MY LUTARI ALONE. He looks hideous. Thick neck. Flat head... my word. He's supposed to look like an otter, not a furry turd.

No, I'm playing Neoquest(though I might have to quit, as it's giving me a headache), and I'm moving much faster than usual.
