When you turn your petpet Krawk into a Neopets, are its stats e.g color level hp random?

The colour is the same as the petpets colour, and the level would be 1 like all newly created pets. As for it's other stats I'm not too sure... I only know that the gender is random. I'm sure someone else will know all the rest though, I've never done it myself :)
