The official Dump your Riddles and Puzzling things here thread.

A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every evening when he comes home from work, he uses the lift the the fith floor and walks up the other five floors. The man is perfectly fit and the lift goes all the way up to the tenth floor. Why does the man walk five flights?
He is a dwarf, and cannot reach the 10th button. :D

There are two people in a room. One person is the other person's son's father. how is this?
The two people are a mother and father of the same child.

George points at a man. "That is my nephew." he says to his sister Goergina. "But he is not my nephew." replies Georgina. how can this be?

oooh i love these. Note: It's probably best to have someone ELSE read you the question, knowing the answer, so you can ask them yes or no questions ;)
In order from easiest to hardest.

A black horse jumps over a white man and the white man is dragged off. Why?
It's a game of chess. The horse is a knight and the man is a pawn.

A man is walking down the street, steps on a pebble, and dies. How is this possible?
The man is Superman and the pebble was Kryptonite.

A man is found dead in his apartment with the door locked from the inside. He was found lying on the floor in a pile of wood shavings. What happened?
The man was blind, and also the shortest man in the world. Every day the second shortest man in the world shaved a bit off of his cane so that he thought he was growing and killed himself. Now do you see why it's best to have someone answer yes or no questions? ;)

But nothing would really happen to the man if the horse just jumped over him. Maybe if the horse landed on him.

I love those two!!

What row of numbers comes next?
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221
The next row is
1113213211
Starting with the second line, every line describes the line before it. In writing, it is:
One One
Two Ones
One Two One One
etc.
etc.

A man walks up to you and says "Everything I say to you is a lie."
Is he telling you the truth or is he lying?
He's lying. Even though he's lying when he says "everything" he says is a lie, some of the things he says can be a lie, and this is one of them.

A woman has 7 children, half of them are boys.
How can this be possible?

ALL the children are boys, so 1/2 half are boys and so is the other half.

:D

Below is an excerpt from a song by Leonard Bernstein.

"A big Indian and a little Indian were walking down the street.
The little Indian was the son of the big Indian
But the big Indian was not the father of the little Indian."

Who is the big Indian?
