Well, our family is a bit different. Depending on the year and what has happened during that year we do something a bit different.
If it's been a normal year, we usually do normal advent calendars. My family is all Christian and I'm Pagan, so we do it a little bit differently. I use every day from the 21st to the 22nd or 23rd (Whenever solstice is) and put up a new decoration or make a new preparation for my celebration.
If it's been a bad year (IE a death in the family) we'll have gifts (small ones) that we open one package every day. This helps us get through the holidays.
Usually I go to my grandparents house to celebrate Christmas with them, opening gifts early in the morning. Then my grandmother hosts Christmas for her side of the family (which is HUGE) and it's at her house, so the entire house is filled with people and tables FULL of food. It's a lot of fun, even though it's the only time I see most of them during the year. Then we have this game where everyone puts in one present, and we do "Present steal" where you can choose a present, but watch out, cause someone can steal it (Up to twice, then it's yours if you have it!) and then you have to either take a new one or steal someone else's. It's a TON of fun.
And that's my Christmas.
