I went to zetapets to see what its like, i check "Coming soon" it says Av Chat,, Auctions, Guilds, Battle, Quets!

Eh, it's similar to neopets, but most of the ideas on neopets are taken from other places. It's just easier now for me to not care anymore about zetapets and other such sites anymore.

good, im not just going psycho thinking zetapets or whatever it was are copying them.
mind, neopets doesnt have an original bone in its body either, couple tendons maybe but no bones.

There are tons on Neopets copycats, but I haven't seen one get over even ten thousand users. I don't think Neo will have much competition when it comes to virtual pets.

The only way for another virtual pet site to actually compete with neopets is to actually come up with something original that no other site has. Nobody is going to join whatsis-pets for auctions and shopping when there is another whatsis-pets site that has equally or better auctions or shopping or whatever. What I'm waiting for is a site with more customisable pets (clothing anyone?). The paint brushes are nice, but its kind of annoying seeing someone with the exact same pet as you.

Veropets is such a neopets rip off.
Pets that look like a Draik, Cybunny, and Eyrie.
Things that look exactly like guilds but the one bar is on the opisite side.
Be glad Zetapets isn't like that.

Welcome to the real world, where people steal ideas from others all the time and get money for it.

If Neopets cares they'll sue them, and since everyone's copying they obviously don't care, so you shouldn't either.

I've been playing RPGs before computer games even had graphics -- they were only ASCII characters and text way back then, believe it or not! Many of Neopets' game functions come straight out of classic role-playing/fantasy games, such as guilds, shops, quests, etc. Even some of their art work is very similar to some PC games from the past. People aren't "ripping off" Neopets just by creating similar games. If this was the case, you can bet Neo would be in the hot seat for doing the same thing.
