My trial for Animation Shop ran out a long time ago, and I really need to make animated things. Anyone know any *free* animation programs?

What kind of animation do you want to do? Many programs do different things and are often better for certain types of animation.

You can get a free trial of Flash here. It's not as easy as Animation Shop, but you can do a lot of stuff with it once you get the hang of it. :)

Oh boohoo, it's illegal, wah wah wah... Like they'll find out.

That's what I did before I reformatted my harddrive. :D Works no matter how far you have to set it back.

Blah blah blah, no matter how you do it, anything that avoids paying for software that's not meant to be free is illegal and immoral.
The reason companies must charge so much for their programs is because of people like you.
Turning back your clock is just as bad as downloading it illegally.
No excuses.
I think I'll also mention how SAD I think it is that you can't afford a $100 program.

I'd assume lots of people couldnt afford a $100 let alone kids.

There are a few free ones but most of them involve you having to create the frames yourself and then have the program convert it into an animation.

*cough* yea $100 in what currency?

There's a program called Giffy and Unfreeze. Both are free programs, but you do need different images for each frame and then insert them in and they'll make the animation for you.

If you were to animate with those though, you probably wouldn't be able to use them on PPT...they launch almost anything way over the limit. Basically each frame would be a picture- and the total file size would be the total size of every picture you've used. Say you've got 10 frames of 6 kb, that'd put you at 60.

That's sort of what my programme does. It came in a pack :D Serif Photo Shop. You copy the images onto frames. V.annoying.

If you have Photoshop Elements (I think a few other versions of Photoshop do this too), you can just make a different layer for every frame, and then in the Save for Web box you can animate it. That's what I do, and it works out pretty well. The files are also fairly small.

I am gonna have to agree. My parents won't even pay for me if I get a McFlurry at McDonalds (not that I'd eat one, I hate them) but it's the principal.

So it's illegal, big whoop. Immoral? Who cares? In the immortal words of my uncle Bob, "It ain't not illegal if you don't get caught."

Thats a real snaggle-toothed needlepoint jalopeno! A truly strawberried television!
