Yesterday I found out my best friend is leaving to live in Australia becuase his dad got a job over there. I'm really shocked. He's my best mate by a mile, and we spend pretty much every weekend hanging out. I have other friends but none of them are nearly as good as this guy. I'm just really sad, life seems to have lost its edge. I don't really feel like doing anything. It sounds dumb, but life just sucks sometimes.

Oh dear...*hugs*

I know exactly how you must feel now. My best friend had to move to Aussie too, and though we made efforts to keep in touch, we sort of drifted apart and now it's been years since I last chatted with her.

Try to keep in touch via e-mail, messenger programmes or if possible, phone. Don't feel bad about it, you'll find more good friends eventually.

Dont worry, you'll get a new best friend. Same thing happened to me four years ago, except my best friends were twins, so I lost both of them at the same time.

I moved to Florida because of my dads job and lost all my friends, and I made new friends there, but I had to move back to Israel, and made new friends again. It's not as bad as you think it is, you can make new friends, there are lots of fishes in the sea :D

That sucks, I' moved a far away from my best friend to, but only by a state, nothing compared to how far yours is going too. But since trans-continental phone cost will most likely be through the roof; its wise to try and keep in touch through some type of messaging program or something, or even a webcam if you each have one. Hopefully you'll both get to meet again someday.

That's not good. I techinically lost best friends by moving everywhere in the world. I have moved over 9 times and I might move again next year, joy. Anywho, you should spend a lot of time with your friend. When he's gone, send him e-mails and maybe he can visit you during summer or vice versa.

Australia is great, be happy for your friend. And don't worry, it's not as bad as you think it is. This I guess could possibly make your relationship stronger. If your relationship is as good as you think it is, you shouldn't have trouble trying to keep in touch. If not, things happen for a reason.

At least you and your best friend knew each other in real life. Some people have best friends online but don't look at as being only online, but much deeper.

Best friends come and go, I've had four and they have all gone off to other parts of the country, Autralia, and America. You'll probably get over it sooner rather than later but sorry anyway.

Hmm, with the effects of globalism, at least you'll be able to keep in touch. But yeah, I know what you mean. It's not the same. Just make sure you don't lose contact. It's up to you to stay in touch.

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.
