I inherited a pet mouse from my cousin who didn't want it anymore. But I don't think he is very well. He usually keeps me up all night running in his wheel but he hasn't even left his bed for a couple of days. He is sitting on my knee now he is acting really slow and sleepy. He usually runs around when you get him out but he is just curled up in a ball on my knee.

I can take him to the vets tomorrow but I don't know if they bother with such small animals.

Sorry to hear about that. :(

Hopefully you can take him to the vets tomorrow and he will be all better again. (The vets where I live look at mice - my friend had one that was sick and the vet made him all better.)

He has a complete new cage cos the one my cousin gave him to me in was tiny so I bought him a decent sized one. But he has had it for a few weeks now.

Isee, well take him to the vets, and hopefully they will be able to see what is wrong. How old is it?

The best thing to do is go to the vet. If the vet doesn't care about mice, than you can sue him! It's a vet, it has to take care of house animals and such.
I really hope your mouse feels better! :)

Aww :( The vet should help your mouse, when I had a hamster the vet made him better when he was ill once :)

I'm sure any vet will happily take your money, no matter how small the animal

Anyway, hopefully the aforementioned vet can do something about fixing whatever is wrong will your mouse.

A mite take a mouse in, I don't see why they wouldn't...but when small rodents like mice or rats and stuff like that get sick. Its usually the end for them; because they only live but just a couple years, maybe domesticated ones live longer then that. But a vet probably will be able to heal it of its ailment. :)

As said before, the vet should be able to help your mouse.

Have you been feeding a different type of food? If so, it could just be having a bad reaction to the new food, and you should switch to the old kind and see if that's any better.

Hmmm you may have hit the nail on the head, I don't know what my cousin used to feed him on.
I've been feeding him on some mouse food the guy in the pet shop recomended.

Poor baby. :(

I'm gonna guess it is the food, too, now that I think about it... Try calling your cousin to see what he/she fed it. :)

there is little you can do for such small animals, as you said. how old is he? perhaps he's just getting real close to retirement.

i mad a mouse that died in a week, i cried forever, i know how you feel.

but it could be something superficial, that doesn't matter. it may be the food, as some have said, change the water often, too.

No problem is too small for vets. They understand how people feel about pets. Just be wary of costs and fees. They can get a little expensive.

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.
