And for sprogs: http://www.talklikeapirate.com/juniorpirates.html Who has heard o' this "holiday" and who plans on celebratin' it this year? Unfortunately, it falls on a Sunday, so I don't get t' see everyone and show off me pirate lin'o. I'm expectin' t' use it all day though, so don't be surprised if you hear an "Aye, mateys!" slip out this Sunday![/quote]

Pirate day. RULES.

I don't know much about pirates. But how does anyone know how pirate spoke? I mean, I believe pirates existed, but I don't think their lives were as glamourous as they are in movies.

Of course their lives weren't glamorous... most were thieves, pilferers, and completely un-lawabiding.
But people still dress up as pirates for Halloween and such, so why can't we talk like pirates? I'm betting not all of them spoke this way, but it doesn't mean we can't have fun with it.
Come on, it's a bit of silliness in a month without any.

I just printed off several of the posters on the site and put them up in random locations around town. I'm spreading the word about pirate day all around this fine place!

When I go out tonight I plan to do the same!

Yarrrr!

Some were glamorous, when you have hoards of pillferred spanish gold (that had been pilfered from Azttecs and later America in General), you can be glamourous. Most werent.

You. Are. So. Cool. Hahahaha.
I'm so excited; you have no idea. No one expects this side of me to come out... everyone will be so freaked out.

Haha, this is indeed an entertaining holiday. We were supposed to dress like Pirates at school yesterday, even though the holiday is Sunday. Unfortunately, it was our school's first home football game yesterday too, so we were supposed to support our school and dress like a pirate at the same time. The art teacher dressed up completely like captain Hook.

There was also an article in the Newspaper the other day on it. I'll probably forget that it's tomorrow, and move on with my life. :P However, quote my English teacher:

"Talk like a pirate day is Sunday, so I expect those going to church to say 'Arrrr Lord...'"

Hahah.

Oh!! I go to church, and I'm planning on saying "Arr, peace be with ye, lass/laddie" when I shake hands with the other parishoners. They might ostracize me. :(
