well the shrine is good *since the lab ray keeps taking levels off me, i'm down to level 1 again for the 5th time this week* and i visit every day, but i am very fond of the lab ray, because it does something, whereas the shrine can give you food, or nothing, so i like to use it as a suplement to my normal training

I agree that the shrine is good, but it needs to be followed up with actual training. When I first brought cheerily to the shrine, he was pathetic. Some time later, All his stats became great(20+), except the hp. It was after that that I started the actual training with codestones. And no, I don't have the lab ray.
Also, I've gotten several dubloons from there...

Ah, it's luck. My quiggle got so many level ups and stat boosts from Coltzan when it was at a lower level. It's nice to not have to pay a whole bunch for training once in awhile.
