Well yeah, but there are a million things like that. You don't *need* the Av to play neopets, nor do you need virtual codes. You don't *need* plushies from Limited Too, just like I don't *need* the extra 20 pounds I'm working on for all those plushies. You don't need the action figured to watch your favorite cartoon, either. It's American(and more widespread than U.S.) economics. You make a buck where you can. But technically, playing neopets is free.

I think it's unfair to compare the virtual codes and the plushies with the cell phone avatar.

With items redemed from prize codes anyone can purchase those items from the people who won them given enough np. The people who paied money are getting a windfall, but it's not keeping anyone from an aspect of the site. If you have to pay for avatars, which can't be traded, than that's effectivly locking people out of a competition that a lot of people are intersted in (high level avatar collecting)

Plushies are sort of out in left field being real.

Dawn... have you ever lost 21 million NP or a year or more of work due to laziness or incompassion on the part of neopets? Or a few million NP because of a glitch, only to be told they would not replace it?

Does anyone remember blackraptor? Oh yeah, he lost tens of millions because he unequipped some weapons in the dome. Nice one TNT.

Obviously everyone who is here is grateful that neopets exists - If they werent, they wouldnt be here. But TNT have a duty to ensure the site runs properly and isnt full of unecessary dodginess. Sure, they arent obliged to do it, but surely out of compassion?

Time is only wasted ifyou don't learn something from it. I admit, I've thought about quitting Neopets because the quality of it has gone down hill since I started playing, but I look back at all that time and effort I put into my account and... well, it does feel like a waste. Same as when I finish a drawing, spray it with fixative and the next morning, find the cat soundly asleep on it.. and the big whole in the drawing from the cat's claws.

Neopets requires creativity to get anywhere and make it in the games. That creativity is very important to many of us, myself, because I am an artist, though I don't get paid to do it.

Dawn2, I hate to say it, but you are actually proving the point that Neopets has about us players. It's just a game, so why should they bother to keep things running smoothly and have the decency to warn us if they are making "major" changes? And I suppose it's just too much to ask that when they do the major changes without telling us, that means they'll take responsibility when glitches occur that cost us our creative efforts?

To those who lost things to this recent series of glitches, keep at them. Heck, just keep sending mail after mail, fill out those forms. Remind Neopets who actually has the last say in the game! US!!!!

Sorry, I'm not angry, because it's time well spent that I could have been out vandalizing Neoheadquarters, but I do like to see some sort of reward, be it a finished drawing, a smoothly running car, or even that one petpet I've always wanted. I've been playing for almost 2 years and when my first account was unfairly frozen, I complained, because they took a game from me that I truly enjoyed. I created another one, but my joy in it is very limited... and well, I no longer bother with sponsor games nor do I buy their merchandise.
Of course, ever stop and think that you are wasting your time complaining about those of us who do complain? After all no one's forcing you to read these posts :wink:
