Blitz tuned out of the conversation a long while back. It did not really concern him, or thought it didn't, so he turned his back and looked around at the desert setting.
He heard the voices behind him get angrier and angrier, at that exact moment, he noticed the guards were dead, and he saw his one and only chance to escape. He turned around, and as he did, it was like an unknown cue, as the amulet bearers heeded each other, and pick up their own amulets. He thought he had best do the same, and snatched his from the pit.
He noticed that they all were still in shackles except the royal girl on the camel, and noted that another pair of guards had spotted them, and also noticed the dead guards on the barren desert ground. It was about midday or so, and the sun was scalding hot. Blitz's clothes were sticking to him, and the he felt an overwhelming thirst overpower him.
First thing on his agenda was to break free of the shackles. "Hmm. If the myths are true, then the amulets should be able to..." and his thought went on, but only physically, and not mentally. He laid the Amber stone on a flat surface of sand and rock. He took his shackles and smashed them on the luminous stone. They broke in two. He did the same with his leg shackles, and he was finally uncuffed. He stretched his wrists and ankles, and then checked the stone for any damage. It seemed to be like new, infact, it always seemed to be like new. He pocketed the amulet, and discarded his jacket.
He still heard the others around him arguing, bickering, and denoting each other, but he just ignored them, as it looked like he was the only slave so far that had been free of his or her chains. The craving for liquids rose up again, and he was no even more desaturated than before. He quickly walked towards the royal girl and her camel.
In the midsts of her anger, Blitz ignored her, and abruptly interrupted her sentences, phrases, and paragraphs. "Do you think we can share this thing? I can sense water nearby, and if I'm wrong, usually animals know where a good source of food, water, and shelter are." he asked the girl, who was infact still fuming.
