Some of you may have seen my 'Water in my Ears' topic a while back. Well, unfortunately, the 'water in my ears' is now the 'infection in my ears'. My ears hurt so much and feel so clogged that I can't hear half the time and I have to take so many pills daily (1 asprin and a benedryl every six hours) not to mention alchohol has to be put in my ears whenever I take the pills. I'm always feeling warn out and tired because the benedryl makes me sleepy and this is the worst pain I've ever felt in my entire life and my mom (for some reason) refuses to take me to the doctor. If anyone could tell me how to just make it go away, you have no idea how thankful I would be. This hurts like heck, and I don't know how much longer I can stand it without screaming out in pain.

Yes, I do believe it is swimmer's ear. I got some swimmer's ear drops, but they just made things worse.

Oh, you poor thing. :( I've had ear infections before (mostly when I was younger) and they were heck. I'm not sure there's anything a doctor can really do though. I think you just have to wait it out. I hope it passes for you soon. Have you tried a hot steamy bath? Maybe the warm air will lesson the pain a little and promote drainage?

Go to a doctor immediately. He'll prescribe something to help avoid getting a yeast infection in your ears. You could permanently damage your hearing if you don't go.

Yes. Get a friend to take you if your mom won't, and if that's not an option don't be afraid to scream in pain. Maybe your mom will actually get worried enough to take you.

And don't take any over the counter drops unless your doctor tells you to, some can make things worse.

Oh, ouch! I've thankfully never had an ear infection (unless getting poision sumac in your ear counts), but it must hurt horribly. Do what Fidds said and go to the doctor. Better to be safe than sorry, eh?

The Misc board is where people form all over the world gather to discuss their misery! yay!

Thats terrible, perhaps you should have tried putting your head in a pain shaker to get the water out but I suppose its too late, see a doctor and follow his/her/its advice.

Ouch! That sounds extremely painful. The pain i've ever had was when I stepped on a nail. There was blood everywhere. lol, I still have that old, bloody shoe. I have no clue why I keep these things.

I can't believe your mum won't let you go to the doctors. Have you asked her why?
