I absolutely hate this holiday because of the fireworks. They always scare my dog and she starts barking.

Fireworks? On Halloween? Wow, I never knew that happened..

Fireoworks scare my dog too..

Anyways, I don't like Halloween, either. The sidebar on Neopets didn't help.

Fireworks? On Halloween? Never heard of anyone starting off fireworks at Halloween.

Anywho, I don't think that's a fair reason to hate a fun holiday because your dog starts to bark. Don't dogs bark anytime the phone rings, there's a loud noise or the doorbell rings? You should be used it.

Huh? What do you mean about the sidebar on neopets. WHat did you mean it didn't help. And fireworks and halloween go together like pb and j. Everybody lights fircrackers on halloween.

Cripes. My dogs hate fireworks, but whats worse is horses and fireworks.

Oh my goodness.
At my camp, one of the volunteers treated the kids to fireworks... and set them off... I didn't know... until things started banging, I look outside and the horses were just... freaking out.
It was a minor stampede. Then the kids started screaming because the horses were (and I quote) "trying to escape to kill them".
Oiy.
Never again. I have banned fireworks from camp.

Anyways. My dogs hate halloween as well. They're locked in the back hall, so that they don't frighten away the kids at the door. The kids think it's hillarious to see two giant dogs whimpering and whining to be freed. *eyes roll* Kids are weird.

Yes, we are rather weird, aren't we? :P

I'd think it'd be hilarious, but more strange than anything. People around here don't lock their dogs up anyway. One house I went too had a huge dog walk up to the front door when I rang the doorbell.

The little 'yippy' dogs (as I like to call them) are the ones who needs to be locked up. Some of em' are nasty and evil little creatures.

Well my moms manning the door. And collectivly, my dogs outweigh her by about 50 lbs. And... for the dogs safety (we don't want them getting hit with anything... ), and for the kids safety (we don't want them getting frightened, or knocked over)... we just shut the gate and let them stay in the hall or outside.
It's just.... safer.

Oi...fireworks and anything fire related during Halloween is a major issue here. Some of you may know, one guy tried to sell some M-80 firecrackers at my school (and got them stolen), and in the past, some people have lit firecrackers on campus and severely injured someone.

I've also heard of people ringing doorbells and lighting fireworks into people's houses, people launching them in both their front and back yards and damaging property, lighting Roman candles out an open window while driving, and on an off topic note, egging houses, smashing stuff, and generally anything you can think of.

Not safe.

Hmm, I don't hate the holiday that much. Nobody seems to light fireworks over here. All we do is go to stranger's houses and beg for candy :P

I do have a problem with getting really cold when I go out though. I always come hold on the verge of frostbite.

You must live in a bad neighborhood or something, Yoshi. Nothing like that ever happens where I live.

That's true.

Some of the people should consider that with smaller dogs. One ran through its owner's legs and tried to bite my friend. ^^;;

If he is in an English country than the reason might be that Guy Fawkes is in 5 days after hallowen and fireworks are on sale for it...

Usually I toss a few smoke bombs around the place at halloween and I did again this year.

Maybe it's a Canadian thing? There are always fireworks on Halloween here, from several days before and lasting several after. In junior high I used to find tons of used fireworks on the football field on Nov. 1.
I keep my cat and bunny in my room on Halloween night so they don't get caught in the commotion, especially the cat since he's all black, don't want him hit by cars or terrorized by little kids. Surprisingly, neither pet seems to mind the fireworks.
I don't do anything on Halloween except eat leftover candy, so I'm pretty indifferent to it.

Not at all. Fireworks are pretty...common here.

In fact, the last two hours have been non-stop bangs and explosions from outside. My family drove around the city and the explosions were incessant as well. It's really really annoying, especially for my sister, who's trying to study.
