indeed, its a deep (deep, DEEP) sea fish, the little light is used to attract prey, and then it chomps them down.
or gets eaten by a giant squid or somthing.

I agree with you about the anglerfish, but that sunfish is creepy, also if anyone wants to see it here is a picture of a live anglerfish

I think that sunfish is brilliant. If it could talk I think it'd be the best animal ever. Imagine a fleet of sunfish zooming around.

It just looks so silly. It has no hands! Aw. If I had a 10,000,000,000 litre pond i'd keep a sunfish in it, no doubt!

If that is in fact a goblin shark, I think it's pretty silly to be afraid of them unless you're an actual deep sea diver.

From The Australian Fish Museum - "The Goblin Shark is found in marine waters to depths of about 1200 m. It lives near the sea bottom in scattered localities through the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans. "

Also, the pic of the sunfish HARDLY looks like it just 'washed up' on the shore. Check this out.
