Wow, I thought when my grandmother told me that she was trying to be overly interesting. :P

Lost 5 kg from not drinking soft drinks, eh? I'll try that, not that I drink them all of the time.

Plastic reeds: Don't work. Sure, they're durable, but the don't sound too great. Flavor reeds, even if they're actually made of reed, also aren't great to play with. Plus, they still taste like reed.

I was kinda drinking through a bottle every two days, so maybe if you cut them out all together it won't be so dramatic XD

Since you're talking about hygiene products and the like, I suppose I'll include shampoo.

Pert Plus- Oh, this is the only shampoo I've found that the commercials don't lie about. It works wonders.

Head and Shoulders- Pshaw. That's all I have to say about it.

Celsun Blue- Increases your dandruff. It shall die a terrible death.

I swear by Neutrogena T-Gel! I have hair down to the small of my back, so I get dry scalp and/or dandruff easily, but this stuff is great :) Ionly wash my hair around every 5 days (usually 2 -3 times a fortnight) and I really adore this stuff ;) Expensive, but a bottle usually lasts me around 4 months or more - dont need to use much :)

Oh! And I found out from necessity yesterday (ran out of fabric softener) 1/2 cup white vinegar in the final rinse of your washing, works OK as a fabric softener ;) Not as good as a store bought one, but it worked quite well :) And there's no smell ;) (Was my original worry :P)

I know, it sounds totally crazy, but it's true. I watched a thing on the History channel about cocaine. They used to put it in everything.

Tidbit:
Quote:
Doctors dispensed cocaine as an antidote to morphine addiction. Unfortunately, some of their patients made a habit of combining both.

Cocaine was soon sold over-the-counter. Until 1916, one could buy it at Harrods: a kit labelled "A Welcome Present for Friends at the Front" contained cocaine, morphine, syringes and spare needles. Cocaine was widely used in tonics, toothache cures and patent medicines; in coca cigarettes "guaranteed to lift depression"; and in chocolate cocaine tablets. One fast-selling product, Ryno's Hay Fever and Catarrh Remedy ("for when the nose is stuffed up, red and sore") consisted of 99.9 per cent pure cocaine. Prospective buyers were advised - in the words of pharmaceutical firm Parke-Davis - that cocaine "could make the coward brave, the silent eloquent, and render the sufferer insensitive to pain".

When combined with alcohol, the cocaine alkaloid yields a further potently reinforcing compound, now known to be cocaethylene. Thus cocaine was a popular ingredient in wines, notably Vin Mariani. Coca wine received endorsement from prime-ministers, royalty and even the Pope. Architect Frédérick-Auguste Bartholdi remarked that if only he had used Vin Mariani earlier in his life, then he would have engineered the Statue of Liberty a few hundred meters higher.

Coca-cola was introduced in 1886 as "a valuable brain-tonic and cure for all nervous afflictions". Coca-cola was promoted as a temperance drink "offering the virtues of coca without the vices of alcohol". The new beverage was invigorating and popular. Until 1903, a typical serving contained around 60mg of cocaine. Sold today, it still contains an extract of coca-leaves. The Coca-Cola Company imports eight tons from South America each year. Nowadays the leaves are used only for flavouring since the drug has been removed.

Oh, lol, I just remembered one thing we did in Science class in 8th grade. Drop a can of Diet Coke and a can of regular Coke in a bucket/tub of water/swimming pool, the regular Coke will sink, but the Diet will float.

Here's something random...

At Great America, if you put a penny on your knee and ride topgun and they find out, they will kick you out of the park.

Ugh, I know! And it looks so awesome on the infomercial! *rubs her poor welted, burning legs*

For those of you with clean laundry that still stinks/is stained, try substituting half a cup of baking soda for whatever detergent you use. I saw that on an Arm & Hammer commercial.

For good reason! Objects flying around at that velocity could hurt someone. Same reason why you can't drop things from the Empire State Building.

Took the words right out of my mouth. As someone who dated a man that worked at Kings Island for 4 years with the roller coasters, I have had ever roller coaster safety rule instilled into me. I'm glad they kick people out of the park for doing stupid things like that. The force of the penny alone could injure you, a person sitting behind you, or someone below. There's a reason they tell you to secure any loose change in your pockets.

Actually, coke used to come from cocaine, for obvious reasons. :P The type of acid in the coke will eat a nail in like a week I think. I tried it. It didn't work, but that's because it was a big nail. It did look like it had teeth marks on it.

Clorox bleach pens don't work. At least not the one I have. I was trying to use it to clean around the sink in our bathroom, and I even left it on for 15 minutes. Looked exactly the same as when I started. :o

I always thought they were for clothing. In either case, they do work on clothing.
