Today was a pretty crappy birthday, pretty much nobody at school remembered and my mom acted like any other day most of the time (till she picked me up and we got a cake). I came home and when we were eating the cake, my mom gave me tons of DVDs (old mystery shows, Beverly Hillbillies, and POA yay!) And then---

Tharkun gave me a sword!

A real sword!

With a flower-sun emblem! (In the movies, it represents Eowyn). Which happened to be completely cooincidental but still! A sword!

The pommel falls off, and I'm going to have to superglue it back on but

A real sword which has a pommel that falls off....*adds 2 and 2 together*....Its the sacred pommel falling of sword of [insert mystic name here].

Real swords are awesome. My brother has a sword, the blade is only like 10 inches long but it's a sword. It's wicked. And pointy. Needless to say, I want it.

But I will not try to steal your sword. Enjoy it! ^_^

then i saw another one, a replica of the weapon of a charachter in warhammer (archaons: slayer of kings)
infinitely smaller price tag on that one.

Wow, that's awesome! I always wanted this one dagger that I saw in a magazine once. It had dragons on it. XD

Yeah, if you want a relatively cheap one go to antique stores- they sell lots that aren't really antiques (Like... Narsil? Glamdring? Sting? Nazgul sword? I've seen em all in antique shops.)

The Colorado Ren festival has them too- historical ones from all over the world, but they cost a ton.

And I've named it Simbelmyne.

I got my bf a sword when I went to Thailand this summer. They have real swords (low quality, but still real and look nice) for real cheap in the night markets of Chang Mai. I paid about 20$ US for one. Then I came back to the states and went into stores that sold swords and gloated about how comperable ones were 100+$!

Anyway, he loves it. He likes to pretend he's my knight in shining armor protecting me with it. He also likes to fight his brothers with it. Yeah, even though he's 19 he still can act like a 5 year old, but I love him anyway.

I wish I had a sword. *Takes out fork and raises it to the light* All my friends have swords. Mainly the ones from the LOTR, they ordered for $6,000. What does your sword look like? Tall/long/short....

It's a short-sword with a very angular point... on the hilt is a demon ram skull with red jewel eyes... it's a definite hybrid sword, it's got these Japanese tassels (I took them off because strings kept falling out), a mix or Roman, Greek, Chinese, Japanes and Anglo-saxon patterns on the hilt and sheath (Mainly anglo-saxon ^^)

It's double-edged, not very sharp- I'm sure it was meant for display. Chinese stainless steel... and in the center of the sheath it's got this flower/sun emblem. Also sun emblems lower on the sheath... woo for Rohan!

And there seems to be some evil emperor-looking dude looking over the demon ram's head.
