I'd have to disagree. I've been hurt in soccer (I tripped once and had a whole bunch of cleated feet run over me, when the ball went over me, i've been hit by the ball by powerful kickers. I played goal; broke a couple fingers, my nose... but to be honest? Thats NOTHING compared to what i've had done to me in horse back riding.

The most recent was cracking three ribs when the neighbours dog attacked my horse and Smoky went careening off and crashed me into a over hanging branch.
When Smoky and I jumped, he crashed into the jump, I whipped over his head and snapped one of the jumping bars with my back (that was instant bruising), i've been deseated and had the saddle horn (since I ride western now) jammed into my thigh, leaving nasty ugly huge... bruises. I've been bitten, kicked, stamped on (not by my own horses though), and generally beaten up by horses.
You'd think i'd learn.
But I havn't.
OH! I fell off once, and since I use draw reins (think double reins) my fingers got caught and I broke three at once.
I stopped playing piano after that.

You get hurt alot don't you...

I've never actually rode a horse and from what I've seen and heard I don't want to...

I've ridden horses before. It is absolutely wonderful. I haven't gotten hurt yet, but maybe that's because I unfortunately don't get to do it very often.

I have had two MAJOR visible injuries in football (soccer for you foreigners), one time my shin bone stuck out about two inches to the side. I didn't tell my mum or dad so I didn't go to hospital, so it healed up in the end. You can still feel a bump. It didn't really hurt that much after a day. But it was such a FREAKY accident, if you saw it, you would've jumped. The other one was a bruise that appeared in the exact same place a year later from a tackle. That was so much more painful. The bruise was about 6 inches long, and 3 inches across. That one really hurt. I still have that bruise. I really hope it isn't a life scar because I got it mid-February.
And a couple of months ago, I was volleying at the net in a game of tennis, wasn't really paying attention and my opponent hit a backhand right at my stomach, and I was a bit daydreamy and didn't move out of the way. That hurt, but no way near as much as the other two.

Ditto on every comment. Although there was this one time where I went to a horse center about an hour away from my house and rode a horse named 'Sage'. I went on a trail ride with someone (I forget who... it was a long time ago) and then, without warning, Sage just started galloping and going off the trail and I almost got hit by a tree. Scariest moment of my life- and I knew I couldn't scream because I knew that would probably just upset the horse more.

This one made me laugh so hard I think I scared the neighbors - in New Jersey.

I'll just list all of my painful injuries, and let the world judge me:
-Age 2: I was running around the house with glassware. You know that "don't run with scissors" rule? This works the same. Luckily I was young enough that I didn't scar permanently, but there was apparently a pretty good gash right between my eyes for about a year and a half.

-Age 4: The Great Zipper Fiasco of 1984 (uru, I think this is your field of expertise).

-Age 6: My mother and I were going to take lunch to Dad at his office, when a delivery truck ran a red light and broadsided us in our little sedan. Mom cracked two vertebrae and shattered her left wrist because the driver's side door crumpled in onto her. I suffered my first concussion (more on this later) when my head hit the handrest on the passenger door, and I was picking auto glass out of my head for two months. It actually got pretty cool after I went back to school.

-Age 7: Concussion number 2. I stepped in front of a baseball bat when my friend TJ was trying to show me how to play Tee Ball. I was attempting to tell him, "No, TJ, I know how to play Tee Ball." I was apparently stopped at "how." Three stitches, a skull fracture, and an MRI 15 years later (unrelated reasons) still revealed a small dead patch. Cool, huh?

-Age 13: My first real fight. I got the top knuckle on my left middle finger caught on my opponent's braces. There's a little square scar there still, which has since grown two freckles.

-Age 14: Concussion numero tres. I was getting up from underneath a table to retrieve a pen.

-Age 15: Zippergate.

-Age 15: Real fight number two. My friend Jason refused to leave the house - so I socked him. He had a keychain in his hand that I didn't know about, and it almost took my left ear off, right along the skull. Thankfully - it didn't.

-Age 16: The first time I go golfing. You know those "America's Funniest Home Videos" bits where gentlemen get hit by a stray golf ball, and talk like ladies for three or four hours?

That's me. I earned a nickname that really ought not be repeated.

-Age 21: Riding my bicycle back from work one night, my front tire hit a rock of some sort, which I didn't see due to the darkness. The front wheel immediately turned hard to the left, and the bicycle stopped its forward motion. I didn't, and in the process of my flight, my left hip was gouged open by the brake handle (there's a line half an inch high and three inches long) down below the layer of fat. I managed to fly a good distance, but what goes up...

I got road rash on my left elbow, both knees, and my left forearm. Thankfully, my beautiful, beautiful face was left undamaged. Also thankfully, the young lady who I may or may not have been trying to impress, and who saw my very best Superman impression ever, didn't see me cry, yelp, or scream. Because I didn't. I may have sworn, and I whimpered later. A lot. But she wasn't there to see that.

I think that's all the major ones. At least, the ones I remember.

What? That won't make you sterile or anything if that's what you're thinking...

Anyways, I'm a girl, but I can't think of a time where I've been hurt in a painful place. However, I tried to do splits when I was little...and it hurt :P.

Shapu, you have a mighty fine story there. A story of misery and pain. Very entertaining.

Hey, it hurt a lot.

That same accident, I was about 1cm away from severing a major artery in my leg, and had I severed that artery I would've bled to death, as I was on a moutainside for a long time.
